Default Thanksgiving Day Massacare

What a joke, the wonderful and truly amazing Lions do it again. The
only brigt spot that i seen all game was the running of Kevin Jones.
Seems like he is coming out of his shell, 2 games in a row, but wait,
isnt the Vikes and Indys defense horrible? Why yes it is. So is it a
bright spot or not? Another bright spot could be the benching of
Joey(who goes by the name of Joey, besides little kids). but im sure
he'll ge the start next week against Arizona, #34 will rush for 100 or
so yards against a not so good team. Same Lions just a different year.
The only way they will improve is ifthe Fords sell the team and we know
that wont happen.....

I'm definitely sounding like a broken record, well... Either that or Curt
Sylvester's mouth piece; it's one or the other.

Even before the season started he believed the best the Lions would do is
7-9. Even when the Lions were 4-1, during the pregame show Mark Champion
asked him again what he thought. His reply? "I'm still seeing a 7-9
record at best..."

Indianapolis is a much, much better team and that's what the score
indicated.

And after looking at the rest of the Lion's schedule, don't be surprised if
there are only one or two more wins left. I honestly believe Chicago will
win, and I do think the Texans are beatable, but I'm not really sure
against Arizona.

I liked the comment one of the subscribers made about Mariucci losing this
team. I don't think it's happened yet this year, but I had a sense that
the Lions gave up on this one.

To me, that doesn't bode well for the rest of the season...

Report from the news i heard today; Joey says that the coaching staff
will start him against Arizona, of course they will. The Fords drafted
him, it didnt matter that Matt Millen wanted Quinten Jammer, they said
to draft Harrington. Yes, Start him, you better, we are paying 5 million
a year. Is Macmahon better, well I dont know they wasted 3 years of his
career on the bench, so it's not fair to judgehis play on a coupl of
games he played in. Yesterday, Bomer Easison did say "that Macmahon(or
however it is spelled) is a sleeper and will be a good starting QB for
someone."

I'll take it as a bright spot. They may be bad defenses, but at
least we were able to exploit those defenses, not something
we were doing earlier on the ground.

You mean besides the Actor formally known as Doctor
Drake Ramora? Seriously, who cares what his name is?
If can get the job done I don't care if his name is Sue.

I believe so. I'm pretty sure I read/heard that Mooch only
benched Joey because the game was a blowout, not because
Harrington was doing poorly. And in truth, Harrington
wasn't horrible in the game... not good, but not horrible.
And McMahon didn't do any better. Harrington actually
had more yards/attempted throw. Of course Harrington
had the fumble, but McMahon had an INT.

Hopefully Mooch will continue to use his rather than
dropping the running game as the game progresses.

I'll give you 10-1 odds that we beat the Texans this year.

Please let's not start this business again. Let me as you one
thing: Do you honestly believe that Millen, who certainly is
set for live finacially and would almost certainly be able to
get a job back in broadcasting in a heart beat if he wanted
to have something to do, would put up with a boss who
ordered him to do something he really didn't feel was the
right thing to do? Doesn't Millen supposedly have this huge
ego? Doesn't Millen supposedly have horrible taict?

I personally think that if he firmly believed that Jammer was
the wiser pick and that he felt the Ford were usurping his
authority as the Pres and GM that he would be clearing out
his office the next day.

Don't forget that the coaches see a LOT more of him regularly
in practice and training camp. We can't really judge well but
they can, and they had seen enough that they feel Harrington is
the better option... unless of course you feel that the Fords,
who are noted as 'hands off' owners, are also telling Mooch that
he needs to start Harrington over McMahon. And even if they
are, a smart guy like Mooch would simply continue to sub in
McMahon later in the game and as McMahon 'out shined' Joey,
then fan pressure would clearly make the Fords realize that
forcing the start of Harrington is stupid.

He might be... but I'd like to know how much footage
Boomer has seen of McMahon.

They play Chicago here in Detroit. Since there's no playoff berth riding
on this one, they should win. I do think they will beat Texas, and they
should beat Arizona, now that I just read that John Navarre is starting.

So, I'll give them two or three more wins...

I have never read where the Fords "ordered" or otherwise urged the staff
toward a certain draft pick. Why, all of a sudden, would he start with
Harrington?

Yeah, so watch the idiot Jauron blitz the snot out of the QB that isn't a
threat. Unlike his approach to Manning, Culpepper and Favre whom he gives all
day to pick you apart.

Actually, Denny Green's D is playing pretty well, and that does the trick vs
the Lions. Score 14 points and you've won. I, honestly won't be surprised to
see another 5 -11 season. I'd hate to see 6 - 10 and have idiot Mooch gloating
how they improved again. With road victories too! Wow!

It's was heavily contested post draft. You could tell that Millen wasn't
thrilled with the pick. The Harrington pick was forced on Millen by WCF jr
being encouraged by Tobin. (That's why Millen fired him) It was brought up
again recently in one of the local rags by either Drew Sharp or Rob Parker,
neither of whom I like very much. But I have never known them to out and out
lie before either.
