Default Nets trying to pretend Game 1 never happened

http://www.freep.com/sports/pistons/

"The series wasn't over when New Orleans went down, 2-0, versus Miami,"
forward Richard Jefferson said. "The thing I notice about the playoffs is
after one game everybody's a hero. And the next game that same hero could be
the worst player in the world. And the next game it completely changes.

"Don't worry about it. It's going to be a lot of fun to see how this playoff
series pans out."

has Detroit and Indiana playing in the Eastern Conference finals before the
playoffs even started. We lose one game and people are like, 'I told you.'
That's fine."

"Attack the rim, that's the bottom line," Martin said. "I don't shy away
from anything. I'm pretty sure guys on our team feel the same way. If they
block it, they block it. Oh, well. We just can't not go because they have a
couple of shot blockers."

They're going to have to pretend Game 2 didn't happen either.

Not really. Game 2 was a normal road loss. If any team can come back from
0-2 it's the Nets. They seem to be trying to invent a half-court offense
in one series. Like I said, if they can, you can bronze Lawrence Frank
right now.

Rodney Rogers could be key. He's unreal when he's on, nad he's been on
since Frank arrived.

And you base this on what? Had you said that about the Lakers maybe, I could
agree with you, but what has New Jersey that's so far and beyond anyone else
that gives any validity to that statement?

Their focus. Thier maturity as a team. Thier professionalism. Thier
seriousness. They didn't go to the Finals twice for nothing. Thier
expectations, also. They know they can do such things.

You are a diehard fool to the end!

And if not does he become labeled a failure?
Does he get fired like Byron who at least made it to the finals
twice??? Or does he get a pass for underachieving for whatever reason?

I will say this.... BE REALISTIC!!!!!!!! The nets have NEVER been in a
0-2 hole in the east. They have never come back from one EVER!!! Who's
expectations??? Yours??? Not the nets! The nets played against a weak
eastern conference for 2 years. Now the east has some good teams that
finally deserve to be in the finals. Perhaps like most we think the
nets got into the finals by proxy. And finally you are wrong!!!!!!
THE NETS DID GO TO THE FINALS TWICE FOR NOTHING !!!!!!!!!!!!!
They have nothing to show for it!

I don't know how the Nets are going to spin this. All I know
is Byron has been vindicated and Kidd has been exposed.

Only 7 teams out of 173 7-game series have come back to win from being
down 0-2 and you think the *Nets* are a team that can do it?
Hahahahahahahahahahaha

Byron has been vindicated? Hardly. Wait till the next team gets
this do-nothing coach. You think it was only Kidd who couldn't
stomach Scott's incompetence? Think again. It was practically
the entire team who lost all respect for a HC with a poor work
ethic... only a showpiece. The Nets assistant coaches did
EVERYTHING on the Nets during the Scott years. Yes, the Nets made
the finals by default, being (by far) the best team in an
incredibly weak conference. Don't think for a miute that lazy-ass
Scott had anything to do with any little bit of success.

In the past year, both Indiana and the Pistons improved
dramatically while the Nets tread water. This has nothing to do
with Scott. It has more to do with Thorn's bad decision to allow
himself to be persuaded by Kidd and invest in Alonzo Mourning.
This is why the Nets stayed the same while both Detroit and
Indiana took steps to the next level.

I expect either one of those teams to give the West a huge run for
their money in the finals.
