wow!

how fun was that!

a few thots...

great gameplan by the coaching staff. a great team game by the Oilers...
passion, great forechecking, crisp passes out of our own end... all six
D-men played really well, including Semenov in his first game of the
year. All four lines were extremely effective, York, Smyth, Reasoner
were awesome, Dvorak had probly his best game so far, just needs a
little more luck for that first goal...and Salo was exellent,
again...and man, Hemsky is such a treat to watch game in and game out...
i mean, the kid's gonna be a stud, he's killing penalties, blocking
shots, not to mention what he's doing in the offensive end... and that
backdoor pass to Staios was something else...

PK was good, despite the Avs going 3 for 9 (factor in two shorties and
our 2 for 8 PP, i'd say we one the special teams battle).. the roar
after reasoner's goal was thunderous!... seriously tho, are the NHL
officials getting paid by the call now???

the best part of these Oiler HNIC double headers? you get to watch it on
TV when you get home!!

cheers...

an amazing amount-doesn't get better than this!

Staios the sniper, wasted on D all this time heh!

Now this is NHL hockey!!!!- amazing what the game can still look like when
teams play it properly!

Hate to crap on your parade, but pretty shitty goaltending from Sauve in
the Colorado net, he is just a rookie and it was his first NHL game, so
this isn't going to happen every night.
Colorado figured that it was a good night to start Sauve, as the Oilers
are not exactly the powerhouse of the NHL yet.
So a reminder that when the Oilers play in Denver on Thurs. night, the
dream will be over.
I doubt that the Avalanche team will take the night off and start a
rookie goaltender !!

Cheers

true, Sauve's a rookie, but he's an NHL rookie, so he's there for a
reason. it looked to me like somebody behind the Oilers bench did the
homework/read the scouting report, cuz how many of the 5 goals against
were scored up high/top corner?... 3?? and considering how many times in
recent seasons the oilers have blown games against rookie 'tenders (last
season? Boston's Tim Thomas, SJs Toskala, STLs Curtis Sanford to name a
few), i'd say a rookie goalie hardly equates to guaranteed win night...

the oilers effort would have earned them a W against anybody last night.

The other stiff you have as a netminder isn't Patrick Roy either. David
Aebischer isn't going to scare anyone and that includes the Oil.

Yeah and Rico Fata, Ribeiro, etc are point a game players...and Staios
and Cross are top tier offensive defensemen...and Sundin, Iginla,
Lemieux, etc belong in the minors.

ITS THE FRIGGIN SILLY SEASON YOU STUPID PROLE...EXTENDED PRE-SEASON

Roman Tureky was a top notch goaltender after the first 20 games a few
years back.

Do you really think that overrated Avalanch team with those
over-the-hill one-wayers like Selanne and Kariya was the real deal?

So if the Oil beat your team again on Thursday night, are you going to go
on about how that would never had happened if Roy was still between the
pipes for your team, numbnuts? Face it, they don't have him anymore and
will find out that in this day and age, sad as it is, defense will win out
over offense when the Cup is on the line.
