I was gonna go play the local par 3. Figured it would be good short game
practice. Do people usually carry the clubs in there hand or actually bring
a bag? Guess it doesn't matter, seems like the bag would be overkill. I'll
probably just carry my 9 iron PW,SW, and putter in my hand and toss a couple
balls in my pocket. What do yall do?

My local par 3 is a nice one, and from the back tees I need everything up to
a 4 iron. I just take out my woods and go.

My general rule of thumb with par-3 courses is if I need more than three
clubs to play it, I carry a bag. I don't want to mess with having to hold
onto more than 3 clubs while I walk from shot to shot, and I worry about
leaving one behind somewhere if I'm carrying around more than three clubs.
I have a "sunday" bag that is great for just four or five clubs, so I'll
frequently use that over my full stand bag if I'm just going to tote around
a few clubs. If you are planning on playing that par-3 course regularly a
sunday bag would be a good investment.

I carry the bag, but sometimes leave the woods in the trunk.

I have a par 3 that I like to play pretty regularly, so I ended up
buying a little 'sunday' bag for about $20. Otherwise, if you have a
fairly light weight walking bag, just take the woods out.
