Default I Wonder Whether the Network Will Report on Wie's Behaviour

I didn't see any comments from the PC crowd, only mine.

BTW, I did NOT equate prejudice with racism; they may overlap, but
they're different phenomena.

True, but my point was that you were critical of *Asian* culture while
Michelle Wie is a product of Asian *American* culture (which, BTW, may
just produce more people who do things without due regard for whether
their actions will bother others). I've lived in both Asian and American cultures.

Yeah, I guess the school I graduated from has plummeted down from where
it was when I graduated, but in 2000 US News and World Report still
ranked it #1 in the US. Obviously that could be disputed--and has
been--but somebody out there still likes us. I just wish they could get
a winning football team again. :-)

Even my last graduate school ain't all that bad. And they consistently
have good football teams.

Yep, that's sort of what I was saying. And those you mention *are*
Asian, and might be expected to have Asian cultural traits, whereas MW
is Asian American, a quite different culture. She's also a very young
****ager, a culture sui generis.

Thanks for pinning this down. I'd thought her background was Chinese
(American); only yesterday I was argu^H^H^H discussing this with my
wife, and you've saved me from future bumps and bruises. :-)

But come on, she's been playing golf more than half her life, already
having participated in several high level competitions, including
professional events. They, both MW and her dad, should know not to
hit out of turn, especially when her fellow competitors are way behind
them and have yet to hit. MW should also know not to move, especially
in sight of a fellow competitor who's about to putt.

These are some of the most basic etiquette that should be practiced
especially when playing in an event such as the U.S. Open.

I'm not advocating smacking or kicking the girl's ass, like this sick
vince is, and it's unfortunate that DA decided to take it out on MW
like she did, instead of drilling into her, like David Fay said.

But, the bottomline is, if MW had shown and practiced the basic
etiquette, this wouldn't have happened. I guess to be fair to MW,
last year, a similar incident took place between Morgan Pressel and a
pro player who was in her group. Perhaps the USGA/LPGA can better
educate the **** players who play in the pro events.

Besides, and I'm being brutally honest here. May be it's just me,
who've yet to have his daughters reach the ****s. But, every
interview I've seen of MW, leads me to believe that she carries more
arrogance and conceit than humility and maturity, yes, even for a 13
year old.

I think she needs her bare bottom spanked, and I'm just the one to do it!
After that, maybe I can drill some "etiquette" into her.

Hehe, I took it the way you meant it, although now that I think about
it, I just had a mental image of DA and a cordless Black and Decker drill
