Default Big Ol' Earl Dotson retires

I'll miss him. He was always a hard-worker and a very classy guy.

Who was the guy Earl beat out for the job way back when? The Packers
were real high on another tackle, and he kept blowing his chances. I
seem to recall Earl coming out of nowhere to take the position and
make it his own when he wasn't supposed to.

He was. I agree that he'll be missed.

I remember they brought in Tunch Ilkin in the early 90s (1993, I think) to
be a starter at tackle. He had been with the Steelers and was a solid
starter there, although he was a bit long in the tooth when he joined GB.
IIRC, Dotson beat him out for the starting job in 1993.

No, it wasn't Tootie Robbins or Tunch Ilkin. The guy I am thinking of
might have been Paul Hutchins. I looked back into the yearbooks. I
beleive he was the guy that the Packers were real high on and wanted
him to have the spot but came in like overweight or something, and
Earl Dotson blew him away when he wasn't expected to. Does that
name/scenario ring a bell?

That's a good question, was he? I just seem to recall they had high
hopes for another tackle and Dotson stepped up and put whoever that
guy was away. I remember Earl being mentioned as an afterthought.

You sure it wasn't John Michaels? He was supposed to be the up and comer
when he was drafted but he turned out to be too damn nice.

Default OT ~ Ari Fleischer's degree of liability (WAS ~ Re: Big Ol' Earl Dotson retires)

Can a press secretary be held criminally liable for the lies his FOS
boss(es) tell(s) him to disseminate???

Just curious.

On what charge?

Cory, under you under the general impression that politicians tell the truth,
and that the instance in question here is some kind of anomaly?

This is kind of what I'm wondering about, FTR. I'm *not* saying whether
he can or can't be held liable. I'm ASKING. BIG difference.

Huh?? Wanna try that one more time, Spoo? Your syntax is kinda screwed
up here.

Dumbya hasn't told the truth, IMNSHO, since the day he took office.
Furthermore, he's blatantly used the office of POTUS to settle a score
with Saddam Hussein for threatening to kill his own father (QUOTE: "He
tried to kill my dad!") under this false guise of ridding the world of an
evil man.
