moral of the story
with this defense, GB can't affors any mistakes on offense, specifically
turnovers. the int returned for a touchdown was enough to put the game
back in reach of KC, and the fumble in OT was the kiss of death.
first off, that's an awful lot of pressure to put on an offense. when
you put 34 points up, you reasonably expect to win. now, not every team
is KC, so perhaps that is some decent explanation. still, I was muttering
as the 4th quarter began, "what ever you do, do NOT leave it up to the
defense". and that's what happened at the end of regulation, and in the
OT period.
I'm sure this is something of a "chicken or the egg" question; if the
offense hadn't had a few breakdowns, the defense wouldn't have been put
in the position that they were put in, but certainly no one can make the
argument that the offense left the defense on the field all day; GB lead
TOP 36 minutes to 29.
hall did have an impact on the game; I don't think I've seen a KR put
his stamp on a whole football game since billy "white shoes".
did dickie vermeil cry after the game this time?
