Default The Pistons Should Be Punished

If the Piston organization is not severely punished too the NBA will be
disgraced. The Pacers deserve what they got but don't forget the Pistons!
Piston fans are a disgrace to the USA! You should be ashamed Piston fans. If
you are even half decent you will demand just punishment for the Piston
organization!

I guess you'd have to punish Philadelphia, Boston, New York ect. ect.
Things would have gone the same in most cities. The stupid reaction of
one Detroit fan throwing a cup of water is exactly what you might
expect in many cities around the US given the situation. If Artest
wouldn't of exposed himself as a bulls eye and taunt the crowd by
laying on the table and playing innocent then a cup of water probably
never would of been thrown.

Artest should of done what any reasonable person would of done.
He should of had security remove and/or prosecute the culprit.

He should not of been taunting. He should not of been jumping into the
crowd. He should not of picked a fan at random and bully him. That is
where the real problem started. The fans reaction to his bullying and
his teammates taking punches at other fans is what caused this mayhem.

M.L. Carr - a Celtic - had a cup of urine - yes, a cup of PISS, thrown
on him in Indy one time ... luckily he had no choice but to "take it"
<remain on bench> .... but....should the INDY fans have been
fined"..??.. works both ways.

No.

Ron Artest did not give security any opportunity to handle the unruly fan.
He lunged into the stands creating a riot. Nobody could prevent someone
from throwing a plastic cup. Had Ron Artest simply pointed to the offending
individual, security would have grabbed him promptly and there would have
been no situation. Artest instead chose to charge and in doing so,
endangered himself, his teammates, and his organization. I feel no mercy
for the fans that were involved. If you throw something at a man twice your
size, you should be prepared for the consequences. No lawsuits should be
heard on the mess as it is doubtful anyone involved was blameless but never
forget the riot was caused by Artest.

Why? One idiot threw a beer onto the court and hit Artest.
So what? This happens in every sports city, and in every sport, in this
country.
What happened afterwards is totally Ron Artest's fault.
Don't blame all Piston fans for that, jackass.

Back in the 70's .. ass holes Chicago fans at Soldier Field used to spit on
the Green Bay Packers players.
Did you ever see a Packer player run up and just randomly select a fan and
start punching him?

Fans are always acting like jackasses, just like you.
But the Professional Athletes can never do what Artets and his "homies" did.
NEVER! This isn't the ****ing hood.

NBA players, and the Pacer players, should be ashamed!

Piston fans have already been punished, long ago, in that they
have to live anywhere near Detroit. I was there just this summer
for a Tigers game. The city is still a wretched ghost town, despite
rumors of an influx of money and an economic "recovery." It's
a turd bowl. It amazes me to think that it was probably worse a
few years ago.

How did the fans get close enough to spit on the Packers?

I have NEVER seen fans act like the Piston fans did. It was a drunken mob!

NBA players are under immense pressure. The Piston fans have no excuse and
neither do you for defending such conduct. Artest, Spreewell, JR Reid,
Rodman, Barkley and several others should have been kicked out of pro ball
but it's all about money. The NBA doesn't give a crap about what's right or
wrong. Neither does Boxing or the NFL.

As the Packers walked out onto the field, through the old tunnel.
Fans could easily hurl crap and spit on the opposing team.

Did you miss the part where an NBA player, Ron Artest, came running off the
court and started randomly punching fans?
What are the fans supposed to do? Just sit there?
So, because they defended each other ... they are a "drunken mob"?
Give me a break.

I admit, the guy coming onto the court was an idiot.
But for Ron Artest to approach him and then slug him, was much more idiotic!
Then Jackson slugged the same guy when he was trying to get up off the
court!
What a thug!

Oh, poor babies.
If it's too much pressure and it leads to the melee we had last Friday
night, then these players who are supposedly under so much pressure need to
find other jobs.

conduct.

You lumping in all Detroit Piston fans for the action of a few, is absurd.
That would be like someone else saying ... "all blacks are bad for the
actions of Artest and his fellow black teammates."
I'd be willing to bet, according to the statistics, that that "someone else"
would be a lot closer to the truth than you.

The black race is and has been in a social decline, yet no one wants to talk
about it or say something about it .... because they may be labeled a ...
ooooohhhh .... "RACIST"!
Bill Cosby is finally saying something. Yet, if a white man said the same
thing ... he's a racist.

On this I agree with you.
