Default HELLO Jacksonville....help please

Pats fan here...love the Jags think you guys are up and coming. You have a
really smart coach.

Can you help me out a little....We are staying in Orlando for Superbowl. When
we come to Jax on game day - what is best way to get there?
We are parking right at AllTell. Are there any shortcuts? How bad is game day
traffic? How many hours early should we leave to be sure we get through the
traffic.
My hope is to get to the lots by 1:30, that said, worst case scenario, when
shoudl we leave. When and where will the traffic start? How many miles of
traffic can I expect? Are there any better way to come there other than up 95?

Anyhelp much appreciate.

Frank

Some of it depends on what part of Orlando you're staying in. If you're
staying to the west, you might consider jumping on I-75 North to I-10 into
Jax. Definately less traffic that way. The other route most often taken is
I-4 to I-95 North into Jax. There's some construction that way, and bound
to be more traffic. I would allow myself around 2 hours give or take.

Good luck trying to find a parking space at Alltel by the way. They have
basically eliminated about 75% of the public parking around the stadium for
the Superbowl from what I understand. They also say parking downtown will
probably be a little tight to with all the expected visitors.

Hope you enjoy the visit.

than up 95?

You might could try US 1 which runs parallel to 95 up to J-ville. I
usually do this when going to Daytona for the races and generally avoid
most of the traffic untill I get right into Daytona...

Take I-4 to 95 North. Once you get to Jacksonville there should be signs.
If there isn't take Martin Luther King Blvd toward the Alltel Stadium.
Please allow yourself more than two hours. Give yourself plenty of time.
Enjoy the game and here's to the Pats kicking soup boys ass(mcknabb).

The Greenway(SR417, toll road) around Orlando to 4 to 95 (or US1 if you
choose that route) at Daytona. A few miles longer, but worth it to avoid
downtown Orlando, IMO.

HAHA..thanks Marco, my three 21 year old sons would probably love the
gold club, not sure what the Mrs would think though (guess that takes
me out of picture).
Anyway, thanks to all that answered. Seems like three choices here:

1) 4-95 with everyone else
2) If 95 jams get over to rte 1
3) alternate route of I 74 to 10

I challange jax people to tell me..which is best and what time should I
leave to get to the stadium by 1:00??
I expect the city to see a whole lot of traffic for sure on game day.
What is it like on normal Jags game days? When should I expect to hit
the traffic and for how many miles??

Shortest route is probably going to be I-4 to I-95. If you're willing to
take an extra 20 minutes to avoid heavy traffic - take I-4 to Deland and get
off on the highway 17 exit. You can take 17 all the way up to Jax. Quiet
drive through mostly rural areas with little traffic. 17 will run into I-10
(east). Then just a couple of miles to I-95 (north) and the stadium.

If you are a ticket holder, you have the option of parking at the Prime
Osborne Convention Center. Shuttles will take ticket holders to the
stadium. Much less hassle, and it should get you out much faster after the
game. You will see the Convention Center off to the right almost as soon as
you get on I-95 north. Total travel time from downtown Orlando - about 2
1/2 hours.

better leave orlando no later than 6 am. it's a solid 3 hour drive, but
w/traffic that day expect at least another hour added to that. you'll need
time to find parking & will probably still have a good hike to the stadium.
