Handy excuses for this week
Here are some handy excuses we can use about this loss:
- Poor officiating. A key pass in the 1st quarter was called complete and it
wasn't. And they didn't call holding all day, except on us.
(This excuse requires ignoring the Morton fumble and Tait's takedown.
2pts in wrestling, isn't it?)
- Poor field condition. Chiefs are not a "mudder".
- It was foggy, and we had no Rudolf. And they had Rudi.
- "I'm glad they lost. It takes the perfect season pressure off."
- "I'm glad they lost. We have time to fix the holes in the run defense."
- "I'm glad they lost. Now we'll be really fired up to beat the Raiders."
- "They overlooked the Bengals and looked ahead to a vastly superior Raiders
team"
- It was their Super Bowl and they played above their ability."
- "I'm glad we lost. It could improve our position in the draft." (This
excuse is not really available this year but I'm just used to using it.)
Note: This post contains heavy sarcasm. Those taking me seriously are
sentenced to a whole week of listening to Jason Whitlock.
My real take: The Chiefs got beat today. They are not invincible. Other
teams will notice and watch film. They haven't really won anything yet.
They're still a damn good team. They have the potential to win out. All the
way.
My tickets are not for sale.
