How to turn off 'Maintenance Required" light:

1. Hold trip/reset button on dash
2. Turn key to "ON" or start engine
3. Hold button til light goes out

them permission to talk to Beane about becoming the GM.

At least for this year. Understandable, not wanting to make a change
before the season. I did hear a rumor about Sandy Alderson possibly
wanting to become a GM again. He's the guy who actually set up the
system that Beane follows, and who hired all of the people who act as
Beane's braintrust.

Rumor has it Bowden is to be interviewed and Montreal GM Omar Minaya as
are assistant GMs Ned Colletti (gints) and Paul DePodes (A's). Unless
McCourt lets Evans finish out his contract Beane seems out of the
picture. Any body else will want at least a 3 year contract.

Well, I've said that I'd like the current team to be in charge at
least through the June draft. With 3 picks in the first 39, another
draft like the last two would leave the Dodgers minor league system in
good shape - especially with some of the top prospects moving into the
top of the minors now. I can just see a new GM letting Logan White
go, even though he's arguably been the top scouting director (of the
30 operating) over the past two seasons. At least the Dodgers can get
one more good draft out of him and Evans.
