....or so says S.F. Chronicle sports columnist Ray Ratto. Here's the link:

(Sorry about breaking up the URL into two lines!)

If you put " at the beginning of a line then paste the URL then put another
" at the end the link will stay intact.

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/chronicle/archive/2003/12/03/SPGTJ3EQ8Q1.DTL

" then URL then ", no spaces.

In article <xQuzb.41460$Ac3.20184@lakeread01>, Chris says...

you can actually use a number of different delimiters; (), {},
[], etc. anything that is recognized as text delimiters.

and anything is better than

"http://defeatingthepurposeofelilminatingtheneedfortypingb yhavingalinksthatsamilelongtobeginwith.com"

There are three types of local sports reporters - the homers, the ones
who are anti anything the local team does, and (rare) the actual
objective journalist types. The Times over the past few seasons have
only employed the second type, and not just in regards to the Dodgers.
It's a shame that the paper of Jim Murray has stooped as low as it
has.
