VT has lost only game vs the Dolphins as a starter since he joined the team in
1998. Dolphins do play the Jets at the Meadowlands the second game of the
season. The Dolphins haven't beaten the Jets on the road in five years.....
They have never beaten VT in the Meadowlands. How do you figure 0-6 with that
history?

Bob...

I'm going to type this real slow for your benefit.....even if what you say
about the Phins/Jets recent past is immutably destined to continue repeating
itself until the end of time, the Jets don't play the Phins six times to
open the season.

Granted, the Jets don't exactly face murderer's row in the early part of
their schedule (Deadskins, Cowgirls, Bye week, & Texans outside the division
until the Eagles rear their ugly heads in week 8) , so if Vinny Greenballs
can manage to not give the opposition too many gifts they might keep it
respectable.

On the other hand, if they don't keep it respectable, I'm sure you'll be
right there with your "But we didn't have Chad" hat on.

As opposed to the 'We didn't have Fiedler' excuse. Did Ray Lucas start the
Dolphins last two games with a win in either one giving the Dolphins the AFC
East title. That includes a game vs the 2002 version of the Minnesota Vikings.

My point is not having your starting QB for a significant part of the season
*is* legitimately a blow to the team, but you're saying otherwise *now* and
will most likely backtrack after the fact.

Face it Bob, if Vinny was as good as Pennington, he'd never have been
benched. The Jets *don't* have as good a chance to win with him as they did
with Penny. However, your spin seems to say this event makes them
contenders.

All the little irrelevant factoids you spewed about Testeverde are true, but
past performance does not guarantee future results. Just ask Joe Namath.

"We'll beat the Colts, I guarantee it" Joe Namath before Super Bowl III.

And the Jets have pretty much stunk since....that's my point, past
performance does not guarantee future results.

And yet the Jets have never, ever won an NFL championship of any kind.
