NBA scout on T.J. Ford
I agree about his sense of control. He has tremendous poise and court
awareness. That's an admirable quality in a 10-year vet, much less a 20-foot rookie.
I agree. I think the thing is he's gotten by with his speed for so long he
never really needed his jumper, but at this level he's going to need it
obviously. He does have good shooting form which I think will help him develop
a better outside game. That will come in time. I see no reason to believe
otherwise. And you're right, once he develops that aspect, he's going to be real scary.
I didn't see the Hornets game but it sounded like both teams left their
offenses at home. The Smith addition has been HUGE and has not gotten enough
attention as far as I'm concerned. He's so far beyond what this team has had at
PF for most of the past decade (hell past two decades), it's not even funny.
People ripped that trade because he hadn't lived up to his billing as the No. 1
pick. But what they didn't do was look at how he played when he was healthy. If
he just did that (which so far he has), he was going to help this team
immensely.
Yet another indication where people simply didn't look at what this team was
really all about and what it really had.
Yea, he's real rough around the edges. He either gives you some good offense
or nothing at all. Gadzuric has really improved his game, no doubt about that.
He's not a starter, but he should be a solid guy off the bench who will give
you good minutes and his aggressive play and intensity can't be over-stated.
It's frustrating when you see other teams unearth nuggets and the Bucks
don't or can't. But maybe that's starting to change. I'm telling you, if
Skinner can just stay healthy, a lot of folks might be asking the same question about him.
Yup. The 3-game losing streak is frustrating, no doubt. But their approach
on the floor and how hard they play makes this team so entertaining and fun.
And I do believe if they keep playing that way and get healthy (it's not easy
to win without 2 starters and a top bench guy out of the lineup), they will
make a strong playoff push and be an even more enjoyable team to watch in the
second half of the season.
