Default The Milwaukee Media Makes Me Laugh

It was in the article you posted what the condition is. The article is from
several months ago.
The teams would have demanded his status be clear or they would not have
drafted him.

He just might be a little extra careful not to charge into big bodies head
first. Not a terrible idea even without that problem.

Well I think they had more information to work with. I say give them the
benefit of the doubt.
Maybe he will be a bust but I would bet the neck is no big deal or he would
have not been taken in the first round, let alone in the lottery. A lot more
highly rated picks have been busts, a few lighter rated ones ended up in the HOF.

Only about a couple of players in the 2nd round make any roster. Plenty will
be around to try to play their way onto a team to choose from without trying
up a spot now. Apparently they already knew he would not be a part of the team.

lol. on usenet? never happen...=)

They could not give the reporters information and yet the condition was
reported. The teams would have known it, it was no secret and will have
insisted he has clearance.
You are judging by what was in the papers, if that was all they had to go by
likely he dropped to the second round.

And present a more accurate picture of the situation? Surely you jest.

Plays great in the NCAA tournament, and lands in the hospital in April; with
the same problem as before. Number 8 was too soon. He can't shoot from
outside either.

He got hurt, was checked out. Did not say the condition had worsened.

And then in June is cleared by the league's sports specialists before the
draft. You are investing in worry. Be optimistic, try it...it's fun...=)

So make layups....pass it to Redd...

I do not think much of his game either actually --

Wan't Michael Redd not considered a good shooter when he came out of
college?

That preempts my response of what if your team acquired a speedy 160 lb PG
who isn't known for shooting or defense and has a history of neck problems.
Would you use an 8 pick on him; even if he's as fast as Mugsy Bogues or Spud
Webb?

The good news is Ernie's gone. The bad news, Kohl is not a savior, or he
wouldn't have hired Grunfeld in the first place.

He was chosen in the second round and seen as a complete player though fat
and out of shape, and not spectacular. Do you have his shooting stats? I
don't see what that has to do with Ford. You shouldn't, in my opinion, burn
an 8 pick on a nonshooting PG. A Mugsy Bogues or Spud Webb should go near
the end of the first round or later.

If the Bucks don't sign GP, there could be problems. The Bucks might have to
go after Claxton with a lot of their midlevel. The Pacers and Wizards and a
lot of teams are interested in Ollie, who isn't a scorer.

He was a career 45 percent shooter at Ohio State, but that was spiked by one
season of nearly 47 percent. The other two seasons he was under 44 percent. For
his NBA career, he's a 47 percent shooter, so your point is well taken that
Redd has become a better shooter in the NBA than he was in college.
That is especially true from 3-point range. He was a 32 percent career
shooter from beyond the arc in college, but as we know he's already become one
of the NBA's all-time leaders in 3-point shooting for a career (44 percent).
That tells you a lot about his work ethic and is a good example of a player who
took it upon himself to become a better player once he got to the NBA.
But for some reason, Ford's critics have already decided he won't ever be
able to improve in the NBA. Odd, isn't it?

You are aware Ford is nearly a foot taller than Bogues and a several inches
taller than Webb, aren't you? Oh never mind. Tell me some more about how he's
going to be a cripple in the season opener.
