Default Will the Red Sox Catch the Yankees?

As of today, the Red Sox are 3 1/2 games behind the Yankees. On August 1st they
were 9 1/2 games back. They have 6 more games with the Yankees--3 away, 3 at
home.

Anybody think the Red Sox can pull it off? I'm sure hoping they do it.

i hope they do and it is definitely plausible. however, the yankees still
have a substantial lead plus a real edge in strength of schedule.

the red sox' real hope lies in dominating hte head-to-head matchup. 6-0 or
5-1 would probably put them in the driver's seat. anything worse than that
and they have to catch some lucky breaks.

I think they can, and I'm cheering them on to do it.

I really don't like the Yankee's. I'll be watching those
series closely.

The Red Sox are 2.5 games back now. They've only lost 8 games since
trading for Mienkiewicz. 26-8 since August 1st? Do you guys need any more
proof that Doug is a winner? That trade will certainly come back to haunt
us.

As I posted in another thread, as of Saturday, since the trade Mientkiewicz has
15 hits with the Sox. Since being called up for good in July, Morneau has 15
HR's.

Yeah, I'm really haunted by that.

This is the stupidest argument I've seen in some time. I'm torn
between deciding whether this is stupider than the argument that Brad
Radke is to be blamed if his teammates don't score him any runs.

Congrats on contending for the title. It takes a pretty ****ing stupid
argument to even contend with that one.

Good lord.

Perhaps I should more clearly state the intentions of my rebuttel
<sarcasm>

Doug has magic pixie dust that spreads to his team, even when he's on
the bench, he's a winner.

I knew it, I KNEW IT.....I KNEW it! Didnt' know that it was attributed
to pixie dust but I've known all along he's a winner! Has he had to use
his rally hat while in the dugout?

How IS he doing in Boston? Can't seem to really get any kind of info
re: him other than when he hurt his shoulder at 2nd. And of course, all
the negative stories that popped up every where AFTER he left.

I still miss his fortitude.....too bad it was too much for Gardy, our
manager. lol

AnnE in MN Go TWINS yeah, I miss David Ortiz
too....he's really swinging the bat now. What did Boston teach him that
he couldn't learn in MN???

<whisper>
Who wants to explain to Ann what the stuff between the bracket-thingies means? ;v)
</whisper>

Ann, I couldn't fail to disagree less. Or more; I lost count.

BTW, I neglected to mention, in my post about the offensive woes,
that IBBR. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.
