Default THURS vs. NYI

Nice effort, getting the job done against DET. With our backup goaltender no
less!

Thursday's game makes for an interesting matchup. The Isles have been on a
tear since being thrashed in their season opener. Tonight they spanked TOR
5-2.

Seeing Czerkawski has 5 goals already, I see a "I told you so" coming from
Marty. However, I still believe booting him was a good decision. I doubt that
he would be progressing at such a pace playing on our squad this season.

It will be interesting seeing Asham vs. Ryder. With Michael playing LW, they
should be lining up head-to-head on several shifts. I hope we see solid
showings from our kids; Ryder, Wardo, Ribsy, Hainsey.

Looking forward to it.

Hainsey has sat out the last couple of games. His play hasn`t been that bad
to earn him pressbox time.. so I hope they get him back into the line-up.

I've always liked Asham.I was sad to see
him go.But,this Ryder kid is awesome. He
plays with the love of the game deep inside.I missed tonight's
game--how'd he
do?

Well, I'm not going to "I told you so" yet, because 5 games doesn't make a
season. However, if Czerkawski kicks in 25-30 goals this season, you'll
probably see one. I think Czerkawski was as primed as could be for a
comeback season this year, no matter the team he was on, if only because
his contract is up. No guarentees on what he'll do this season, but geez,
we're paying this guy $1.8 million to play for another team's top line, and
got nothing in return? We'll see how it plays out.

I'm hopeful that the explanation is that they intend to give Hainsey about
50-60 games this season, unless he really takes the bull by the horns. I
could live with them working him into the line-up slowly like that, until
he really starts to shine. It would keep him hungry to play, but also keep
him fresh. He's no better than Bouillon yet, so I see no problem with
Hainsey get roughly 2 starts to Bouillon's 1. At least, I hope that is the
case. I see no other reason for them to have removed Hainsey from a line-up
that had won 3 in a row.
