He said that Eisner is a greedy money-grubber who HAPPENS to be Jewish, *not* that is a a greedy money-grubber BECAUSE he is Jewish. The Jewish-specificity came in when Easterbrook said that given how Jews have historically been outsized targets of violence that perhaps a Jewish exec should have qualms about bankrolling a film glorifying violence (with the unstated implication that something which serves to make society intrinsically more violent is disproportionally bad for Jewish people because Jewish people have disproportionately been targets of violence). -- Rich Carreiro rlcarr@animato.arlington.ma.us |
