Default Need Viceroy Assistance...(OT)

With apologies to Bob Ojama, Viceroy hear my plea...

I am torn. I know that we are only coming up on Election Day '03 and that '04
is a year away, but...

The 9 Democrats running for the Presidential nomination seem lost at sea. None
of them are showing strong leadership skills or the ability to communicate
their ideas effectively. I was leaning Lieberman, I must admit, because he
seemed to be the one with integrity and firm beliefs. That really isn't the
case anymore. And Howard Dean just comes off as a nutcase. John Kerry is too
ugly to ever win a Presidential nomination.

As sad as it sounds, I may have to vote to re-elect George W. Yes, even though
he targeted Iraq as a stockpile of weapons of mass destruction, though we have
found none. And yes, even though there are US troops killed daily even though
he decalred victory in Iraq in a Halloween costume aboard an aircraft carrier
and even though he claims to have two war victories under his belt even though
Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein are still terrorizing us from afar. There
have been over one hundred US combat casualties since victory was declared. Any
guesses as to how many combat casualties we have had in Germany or France since
WW2? The answer is zero. And yes, I may have to vote for him even though he has
asked Congress for $87B to rebuild schools and restore electricity even though
he claims that power is running better than it was prior to US invasion and
that more children are in school. But he seems to be the only one in the lot
who knows what he wants and how to get it. He lies, but at least he sticks with
the same lie.

I need your wisdom and guidance...I wish Clinton was running, and I don't mean
Hillary.

Joey

Lieberman's problem is that he's kind of a ****.

Why is that a problem?

He looks like the guy on the New England Patriots helmet.

?? When was he actually elected?

Me too.

From: "Cynicor" jtru-whydoipost-pin@speakeasy.net

Because he's got a 50/50 chance of attacking someone, a reporter, an opponent
in a debate, opponent supporter, or even possibly a supporter who gets in his
way at the wrong time. Seems like he's got a nasty temper. It wouldn't be
good if he popped his top during the national campaign. I think we call that
the John McCain factor....

Gore got close when he came up on Bush during the debates in '00. But he
didn't have the balls to do anything. Problem is, Dean might. And
that's the end of democracy when the challenger assualts the President on a
nationally televised debate.

Hark! You've come to the right place! I'm all ears!

Ahhh...you have crossed the desert of dialogue to request a drink at the oasis of Viceroy truth!

Nay, it is not so.

Actually ugliness and nutcasity (tm) has never disqualified an candidate. In
fact, some like Lyndon LaRouche, value it like a highly prized asset to be
cultivated with each election season.

It does sound sad. And dangerous to our course as a nation.

Same for Kosovo...a greater success than more folks credit. It's not Panama and it's not Granada.

Or that the $87 billion - $166 billlion so far - the US is spending on a country
that has over a trillion dollars in oil wealth, has to be borrowed by your kid -
never mind the billions in unmet needs at home. And that's just the first year's
down payment. And still the administration stubbornly refuses to relinquish its
occupational control on Iraq to a multinational UN force.

That isn't necessarily a virtue. Neither is turning the largest surplus in US
history into the largest deficit in US history - essentially going hog wild with a
national MasterCard and sticking the future generation with the monthly payments
(of course his buds are making a mint in no-bid overpriced cronyism), gutting the
Clean Water Act, bribing middle class American's for a few hundred bucks so that
No Billionaire Gets Left Behind, putting American men and women in harm's way for
a myopic see-the-world-through-oil doctrine, and attempting to stack the courts
with conservative ideologues so that the right wing agenda is a gift that keeps on
giving long after this administration has left town. What in particular
distinguishes this adminstration from all the prior administrations is that it is
(1) ideologically based (in right wing Christian doctrine) as opposed to the
pragmatism of all the prior administrations - Democratic and Republican. That's
why with everything going on in a dangerous world, their issue next year blared
out with a $200 million dollar megaphone will be to galvanize the Reagan
Democratic swing vote on "codifying" *** marriage...basically pitting hetero vs.
***. Just watch. That five ton bible in the Alabama Supreme Court and Florida's
legislative intervention on extending 13 years of vegetative life are merely
opening salvos. It is also designed to take our focus away from a questionable
invasion of a Muslim nation, a sea of Federal red ink, a hemmorage of jobs, and a
reduced standing in the world that has made us significantly less safe, not more.

Be still my beating heart!

It's the one area I can't help you in. Your political decision is yours and
yours alone. If you think you personally and the country in general are better
off than four years ago, then you should vote for George W. If that's not the
case, then you should reexamine the alternatives.

Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got 'till it's gone.
