....John Maddan.

He's right. We had it. Bad calls down the stretch. Jets total yardage,
around 150. Can't win with that stat.

Can't remember when I've seen a game like this one. Bizarre is
the word.

The defense was ok by the second half but what is with the
offensive play calling? Why do the receivers curl in in front
of the markers? Why on earth is the coaching staff taking no
chances on the road? On the road is where you go for it. They
had it right in the first quarter when they went for the touchdown
on 4th, then they fold their tents. The third and one play in the
4th quarter was ridiculous.

This does not bode well for the Patriots. I can't see how their
coaching staff could lose to the Jets coaching staff last year,
Pennington or not. They may not be that good either.

Julio, we're in big trouble unless they can figure out how to open up more
when it counts the most. Bad play calling down the stretch did us in.

Judging this year's Patriots, based on this poor performance by the
Jets doesn't make much sense.

Why not? If the Jets coaching staff is a bunch of idiots, then they
were idiots last year too and the Pats should have beaten them.

On the other hand, if the Jets coaches are not idiots, it's just
as likely that since the 1999 injury, Vinny is spending more time
looking out of the corner of his eye at pass rushers rather than
receivers. That would explain his missing wide open receivers
and throwing too late to his last checkdown receiver.

Which is a little better for the Pats.
