Music to my ears, looks like Scottie boy may have finally blind sided
the wrong guy. From the Philly Daily News.

Stevens lined up Brashear for one of his patented open-ice shoulder
hits, and Brashear responded by dropping his gloves and pounding
Stevens with a succession of hooks to the head.

"They had been jostling most of the night, so you knew something was
going to happen," Devils coach Pat Burns said. "If anybody comes into
the zone like that and has his head down, I don't care who it is,
Scottie's going to greet you."

But Brashear greeted him right back.

"I have a job to do. If guys want to mess around, then they are going
to have to deal with me," Bra-shear said.

Why do I always miss these things?

From today's Ledger:

Brashear, who angered the Devils Tuesday night in Trenton by punching
Grant Marshall while the right winger was lying on the ice, was dropped
by an open-ice hit from Stevens as he skated to the top of the slot at
5:30 of the second. Brashear challenged Stevens to a fight and the
Devils' veteran defenseman, who long ago proved that he was one of the
game's fiercest players, held his own.

And this for those who think he's a dirty player:

"They're all clean hits with him. If a guy comes across, he's going to
hit him," Brashear said. "That's what it's all about. I don't care. I
can take (the hits), but he's going to pay the price, that's all."

Seems like a different view. But like you I never saw it.

To respond to your own message takes a special occasion, no? ;-) Of
course, a 39 year old Scott Stevens would never level or drop the gloves
with Brashear, or so Mr. Clark tells me. It's just bogus propaganda to
get you going, kinda like what passes for foreign policy these days.

They probably won't dress tonight....but nonetheless it does goose the preseason
game at the Meadowlands. You going?

Seeing that Brashear got the instigator and that it occurred in open
ice, chances are there was no linesman close enough to step in and
protect Scotty.

Why don't they show any Devils home games on tv?

I don't see what this has to do with me commenting on how I'd like to see
Stevens get the shit beat out of him? Is there anything wrong with that? I
don't like him and I would get some very cursory pleasure out of seeing him
pounded into the ice. I'm sure there is a player that you feel similarly
about and if not than bully for you.
