Default Stupid Scheduling

I'm a little nauseated by MLB's schedule these first two weeks. Games in
Japan, off days in the middle of series, and Fridays off. What the hell?

Can we all agree that Bud Selig has to go? Bob Costas for commissioner.

Except for the Japan thing, I think the first couple weeks of the
season have been thiat way for many years. Even pre-dating Selig as
Monkey-Boy... er, um, "commissioner". I do agree that he needs to go,
however. Personally, I would love to see Costas in that job.

The Japan games and the mid-series off days, we've seen that before. But
four teams didn't have a game on Friday. I don't think I've ever seen that
before.

Why did the Padres have to open their new park against the Giants on
Thursday, then have Friday off, then continue the series on Saturday? Also,
Minnesota and Detroit were off Friday too.

Bizarre.

My understanding was that in the off chance that it rained those with Opening
Day tickets could go on Friday. Have no explanation for the other teams

Rain? In Sandy Frickin' Ehgo? Please. There's no way that's the reason.

I seem to recall that Oakland has had less than ten rainouts since the team
hit the west coast in 1968. I'd expect San Diego's rainout rate to be very
similar.

I can see it for Philadelphia, which opened its new park yesterday. That
town gets lots of rainouts, and so they have a mid-series off-day today.
Fine.

But San Diego? Ridiculous.
