Ottawa Media
OK so I am a Leaf fan living in Ottawa - not a very lonely existence as
demonstrated at the Corel Ctr last night, however the Ottawa media all day
has been sickening. Fair enough, when half of your team is down
sick/injured, it is tough on them and one can sympathize, but I am sorry, if
a team (an alleged Cup contender) cannot hold a 4 goal lead against a team
that allegedly is not as good as them, there is something fundamentally
wrong. Almost every comment I heard was prefaced with " now I am not making
excuses but..." followed by a litany of "they were sick, they were hurt,
they were tired, yadda, yadda". Now, rewind to the 7-1 Leaf loss when half
of the Leaf team was hurt, tired from a road trip the same Ottawa media were
completely discounting any comments like that by saying that a good team
could **** it up and that's the way the season goes.
It seems that the story is a little different now that the Sens have fallen
into the same ditch.
To quote Owen Nolan, "Boo hoo"!
On another note, Lowell Green this AM was blathering on about what a great
citizen Krusty Alfredson is as compared to those monsters in Toronto who
NEVER do anything for their community. I would advise Mr Green to check his
facts. While I do admire Alfredson's courage (he was the best player for
the Sens last night) and I admire his community involvement, there are many
Leafs who do the same in T.O. Tie Domi is very active the fight against
breast cancer, Roberts and Niewy are heavily involved in the hospital for
Sick Kids, so before you put other players down, Mr Green check the facts!
Rant Over. I'm out!
