OK so I am a Leaf fan living in Ottawa - not a very lonely existence as
demonstrated at the Corel Ctr last night, however the Ottawa media all day
has been sickening. Fair enough, when half of your team is down
sick/injured, it is tough on them and one can sympathize, but I am sorry, if
a team (an alleged Cup contender) cannot hold a 4 goal lead against a team
that allegedly is not as good as them, there is something fundamentally
wrong. Almost every comment I heard was prefaced with " now I am not making
excuses but..." followed by a litany of "they were sick, they were hurt,
they were tired, yadda, yadda". Now, rewind to the 7-1 Leaf loss when half
of the Leaf team was hurt, tired from a road trip the same Ottawa media were
completely discounting any comments like that by saying that a good team
could **** it up and that's the way the season goes.

It seems that the story is a little different now that the Sens have fallen
into the same ditch.

To quote Owen Nolan, "Boo hoo"!

On another note, Lowell Green this AM was blathering on about what a great
citizen Krusty Alfredson is as compared to those monsters in Toronto who
NEVER do anything for their community. I would advise Mr Green to check his
facts. While I do admire Alfredson's courage (he was the best player for
the Sens last night) and I admire his community involvement, there are many
Leafs who do the same in T.O. Tie Domi is very active the fight against
breast cancer, Roberts and Niewy are heavily involved in the hospital for
Sick Kids, so before you put other players down, Mr Green check the facts!

Rant Over. I'm out!

Gee, sounds like the Toronto media after every single loss.
Toronto and it's fans are real class acts. In defeat, whine,
snivel, bitch, complain, accuse everyone but yourself. In
victory, swagger, boast, crow and try to rub the other teams face
in the dirt.

Now, rewind to the 7-1 Leaf loss when half

Bullshit. The Ottawa media made note of the Leaf injuries in
every report, and I defy you to find any sports media who said
anything remotely simliar to "a good team could **** it up".

Yeah, this from the same team which was falling all over
themselves to make excuses for that loss of theirs, and whose
fans were even worse. To listen to the Leafs fans here that
Toronto team wasn't even fit to play in the beer leagues.

And there is a difference between two teams, both of which have a
half dozen or so regulars out of the lineup, but one playing with
20 healthy bodies, and the other playing with 17 bodies, half of
whom are so sick they're on intravenous, for Christs sake.

Not to mention Toronto got blown out while Ottawa just got edged
in the final seconds of overtime.

In news:KeSUb.34815$9U5.1392888@news20.bellglobal.com , Steve
<slevecque@hotmail.com> first attempted to communicate with pen, but the
writing was small, so next used sidewalk chalk, but the rain washed it away,
and then switched to spray paint and stencils but the cans exploded, so
placed fingers to keyboard for this:

To quote your little Nolan, "Boo Hoo" Gee, what a damn whiner! You expect
the Ottawa media to side with the Make-Be-Leafs? Where do you live again
.... Fantasy Island? It's hockey ... it's a rivalry ... get over it!

Don't let the door hit your pathetic ass on the way out, cry-baby!

Oh, do tell.....

No sensible Sens fan feels the Leafs are "not as good". Look, I can't
stand the Leafs nor their fans - but am at least willing to give credit
where it's due: The Leafs are a damn good team and could very well get
the Cup this year... It's just too bad they are collectively the biggest
bunch of class-less assh*les I've ever seen assembled in one place.

As for the 4-goal lead:

Yeah... and that is/was: THE SENS ONLY HAD TWO FREAKIN' LINES - 1 AHL
Line and one barfing NHL Line.

I mean jesus, dude - it was a gawd damned ProLine commercial out there!

I think everyone, Sens fans and Leaf fans alike are looking at that
4-goal slide entirely backwards... It was a friggin' miracle the Sens
where able to get up by four in the first place... The Leafs getting
the win was just what *should* have happened, given the state of the
Senators, in the first place. I mean damn... Rose colored (or blue
colored) glasses are a scary thing. If that had been the other way
around, I wouldn't be rambling on about "Ooo... what a great comeback
blah blah blah" I'd be like... "So how the f*ck did we get down by four
to this sickly bunch in the first place?"

I don't know where you heard that - but it certainly wasn't the view
from what I saw... It was nice to see the 7-1 pounding, but the Sens
fans / media I know/heard wheren't deluding themselves in this fashion.

You missing a couple of regulars... you are equating to that craziness?
Look, had they just called up enough people to cover four lines - I
would have said yeah - but damn... two (maybe 2.5) lines? Come on... be
reasonable. That was hardly the "same ditch" - and this from a guy who
was more than willing to concede that the ditch you had been in
contributed to the 7-1 score (not just a 5-4 come-back squeaker).

....and here we see why there is such a hatred of the Leaf mentality - it
usually consists of whiny, no-class rhetoric. I mean, why do these guys
have to be whiny little punks when they **win** for Gawd's sakes?

Are you people really that blind and deaf to your own team? I swear you
must cover your eyes and stick your fingers in your ears anytime your
team whines or makes a nasty hit themselves. Just look at some of the
comments Alfie has made after games, win or lose. When you're insulting
the other teams players don't be surprised if they aren't at all
sympathetic to your teams plight.

You guys aren't sympathetic to ANYONE but yourself. And your own
self pity is enough nobody else needs to shed any tears for your
problems.

Way too many Leaf fans are whiny, sniviling, bitching complaining
assholes when they lose, and arrogant, strutting, ignorant
jerkoffs when they win. That, in addition to the dirty play, is
why no one likes you guys. Now piss off and go back to your own
newsgroup.

Ooohh. A little blue and white jammie wearer doesn't want to hear the truth.
Instead of trolling newsgroups, you should be praying for Belfour's health.
Without him, the WWF Leaves are toast.

Take the blindfold off and clean out your ears. The Sens fan base is
guilty of the exact same thing.

Funny thing in all of this is when the Leafs arent't playing I'm
cheering for the Sen's. Just not so ignorant and biased to one side like
yourself.
