Don Brennan said it best: Just don't forget where the bandwagon is parked
when you're ready to jump back on.

the sens rock, their goalie ****s. you can't handle the truth . I'll take
prusek over lalime anyday. Yesterdays performance was truly horrible. He
could barely hang on to a 6 goal cushion. Did you see that last shot? It was
a miracle it didn't go in

while I agree that Lalime was shaky against Pens ...the rest of the team didn't
help with their sloppy play inside their own zone ...Hnidy with a turnover at
Ottawa blueline which ended up in back of Sens net and was in penalty box for
another Pens goal.

Keep in mind tho ...in last 11 games ...Lalime is 10-1 ...which is not bad at
all

still Paddy L. (and rest of Sens) have to be better against the weaker teams

I could handle it if it *were* the truth ;^)

What makes you think I wouldn't? Have I ever said I wouldn't? Nope. I've
just said that Lalime is the #1 goalie, that he had earned the right to work
through his slump earlier in the year, and now that the slump is over (i.e.
he's earning the W's) he's earned the right to have an off night. By the
way, why is it no-one got on Prusek's case when he stunk up the joint the
other night? He let in a lot more bad goals that night than Lalime let in last night.

Yup. It was. But it's not cause to jump ship. As I said elsewhere, shit happens.

Uh, that was a 3-goal cushion.

That was brutal, wasn't it? Hey, I don't deny it was not his greatest
performance. But like every other goalie in the league, he's entitled to a
bad night. Let's be thankful for the W and move on to the next one.

Where were all you guys when he was posting two shutouts earlier this month?
Not a peep. Where will you be the next time he stands on his head? Nowhere
to be seen. Won't matter if he posts three blanks first, the next time he
has a crappy outing ... you'll all be crawling out of the woodwork with your
opinions and great hockey minds about how "we" should do this or change
that.

Moan and complain all you like. Sens are getting the job done with either
goalie in nets. Prusek's stepped up admirably when needed. Lalime has
been solid since mid-December. I'm not worried going forward. If you want
to fret and wring your little hands, go right ahead. I'll be waiting for
you to come around in early June.

Wasn't Brennan quoting Lalime?
And Lalime seems pretty ****y for a guy whose save percentage has
him tied for the 30th and last place in the league.

Prusek, meanwhile, is 9th.

So anyone know which was the last team to win the Stanley Cup
with a goalie who had the worst stats in the NHL?

In news:YadQb.366$l4.1308@tor-nn1.netcom.ca, Zone
<judeandchris@xspam.hotmail.com> first attempted to communicate with pen,
but the writing was small, so next used sidewalk chalk, but the rain washed
it away, and then switched to spray paint and stencils but the cans
exploded, so placed fingers to keyboard for this:

Why is it that you seem to think that anyone that complains about the play
of Ottawa, be it the defence, offence or goaltending, is "jumping off the
bandwagon?" Zone ... wake up and smell what you're trying to shovel, okay?
Not once have I said, nor anyone else (so far that I've read), that the Sens
****. What we have said is that their PLAY ****s when it DOES ****. We're
fans ... we have the right to complain and expect better. And Ottawa proved
last season that they can play better and can do much more than they've
shown. Yes, they are near the top of the NHL right now after a
disappointing start ... and yes a lot of things are turning around. But as
I continue to say, the play has to be consistent! For whatever reason, you
refuse to see this and want to live in some kind of stat-filled world where
the numbers speak the truth. Maybe you're an accountant, pension consultant
or something else that loves numbers ... I don't know. But the numbers mean
nothing to me when I see 5 goals go in that should have been stopped, or at
least 3 of them! The deflection, that one I give. And possibly even the
first goal since it was a real rocket. But the other goals were fundamental
mistakes ... not closing up small gaps between legs, arms, and body ... or
being too far away from the post to take away short-side goals.

I've always been critical of Patrick's play this season ... because last
season he was so far better than this. Yes, we lost games and I can't
expect nor do expect Ottawa to go 82-0, as per your other post. But I do
expect to see that Lalime keeps out the soft goals and handles the simple
things like position and closing up the holes. Deflections and laser shots
.... not much you can do about. I know that shit happens, even to the best
goalies. Patrick Roy and Martin Brodeur have had their really bad games and
I expect that that will continue to happen. But the best goalies bounce
back, not continue to struggle ... or run hot-n-cold from night to night and
watch their backup goalie come in and make an amazing record of 9-4-1 so far
this season. And if you look at Prusek's save percentages and averages ...
those are the things I would expect from a starter and not a backup ... to
use your own numbers.

Lalime has a lot to prove to me. 5 goals from Pittsburgh is 3 goals too
many. When he gets those numbers back down to less than 2 goals a game and
those goals are tough ones to stop for even the best goalies ... he'll have
earned my confidence and respect again. I would be no harder on him than I
would on my favourite players ... Spezza or Redden. If they were playing
like shit, I'd be all over their asses too. But one thing would never
change ... I'd always be an Ottawa Senators fan.

Try Prozac ... or maybe a vacation. Believe me ... they both work!
