How far in advance do you have to pick your game/ticket allocation?

If this is done before the public is permitted to purchase tickets, than
this shouldn't be too much of a disadvantage as you will automatically
get the best available seat not already assigned to a season ticket
holder... however if you wait until after the public gets their crack at
the tickets (via Capital Tickets, for example), then yes, this is may
not be very attractive.

I would suggest that people share season ticket packages. You get the
advantages of season ticket holders (i.e. same seat all of the time) but
you have people to split the cost with. I split our season tickets three
ways and we allocate the tickets based on a draft at the beginning of
the season. For the playoffs we either go to every other game or
purchase an additional playoff package depending on what the partners
feel like doing.
