I just bought a evil respirator for my impulse from paintballgear. I'm
admittedly a newbie to the impulse. I've always been a ****er guy, but
decided to switch to a new standard impulse. Paintball claims that the
evil respirator will "replace tapeworms, volumizers and the low
pressure regs". I assumed that they're talking about the maxflo reg
thats on the gun, which I really dont like cause of its huge size. When
I got it, I started installing it. I stopped when I got to the little
section in the instructions where it basically says that the stock reg
needs to stay on. I really don't think that the upgrade this product
actually gives is worth the $90 I spent on it. Did paintballgear make a
mistake on the item's description, or are they talking about something
else that I just don't understand.

The description was right. Have you ever seen an impy with a ****er
pneumatics reg on the front under the barrel? That's what it replaces.
It's a secondary reg to lower the pressure somewhat and increase the
consistency (theoretically). It goes on in front of the valve, and you
will need to clip the valve spring a little bit. $90 is an excellent price
for the respirator, as around here it is $200 (Canadian). The stock reg
definitely stays on.

trust me, it is. An LPR is probably the third best upgrade you can do to an
impulse, its a dramatic improvement in constency and it will lower your
operating pressure ALOT. (the first being vision, and the second best being
the I frame.. but it is the number 1 gas efficency upgrade.)

the Low pressure reg they are talking about is an LPR (which stands for)
the respirator is infact an LPR, others of note are the Jackhammer II LPR
kit and the Smart Parts LPR.

I too have an Impulse with the reg on the bottom of the marker.
I too purchased an Evil Respirator along with an Evil valve.
The instructions say to cut the stock spring, I asked the PMI rep and
they said if you use the Evil valve they suggest not using a spring at
all, go figure!

So, I have all of that put on and now I can not get the thing
fire,sniff,sniff.
I am now working on the dwell setting and reg pressure.
It acts like it wants to work, but it just will not.

Another day or so and it will go take a visit to the PMI rep for
assistance ;-)

What exactly wont fire? the ram? the noid? the valve?

if its the valve, heres the perfect solution for you

Buy a RIP valve. the best valve in the world, i love mine, its so great. and
it doesnt need a spring!
