Depending on how badly the threads are stipped, you can use Loctite to seal
them. But if they're really trashed, you need to consider you're going to
be relying on a little glue in effect to contain hundreds of pounds per
square inch of pressure. It might be possible to retap the hole if there is
enough metal there, and depending on how long the threaded portion of the
elbow is, but it's also possible you're going to need a new expansion
chamber.

And I'd say the '98 ****er did come with a regulator, you should consider
getting one, they'll do way more for you than an expansion chamber will. If
you're running CO2, get the tank anti-siphoned and use a reg to step the
pressure down to 500psi or so, that ****er will pure like a kitten.

He indicated that teflon tape wasn't working. Original Poster: red or blue
loctite will work just fine.

The WGP inline reg, the one that comes with less expensive ****ers, is often
available pretty cheap as people replace them with something fancier at
three or four times the price, and in fact they work just fine. I've used a
couple of them for years and years, rock solid, finally had to rebuild them
and replace the o-rings after seven or eight years heavy use, can't complain
about that.
