Default Even in the off-season..

...John Canzano is still a prick. Looks like he already has the new GM and
President in his crosshairs and starting to fire warning shots off the
starboard side. I hope Patterson and Nash read this atrocity of a column and
start to realize why players like Rasheed refuse to talk to the local media.
I'm willing to bet the farm that if Wallace rescued a stranded motorist from
a would-be carjacker, Damon donates another $100,000 towards the PIL sports
program, and R. Patterson gets kicked out of a bar for fighting, the only
story that will make it to print will be the Patterson story.

Screw him!!

It's already etched in their reporters' manual."
Cheeks: "What? 'Just ballin?' "
Wallace: "No . . . Good game. Both teams played hard."

Canzano is total crap. He can piss & moan all he wants about the Blazers
but the saddest thing about Portland sports is we don't have a single decent
sportswriter in the whole freaking town. This guy couldn't get a job
anywhere else in the country, yet he tries to write as though anyone agrees
with his take or even gives a shit what he thinks. Pathetic.

Go Blazers !

He makes the blazer hater Quick look like he is a positive voice in the
wilderness..

I did have a long email exchange with him after he claimed team rules were
not enforceable under the CBA, they are if they do not conflict with the CBA
rules and are reasonable and in writing. He of course was not convinced with
the CBA evidence and was still spouting that the union would always win....

Anyway I used for a sample team rule they could set guidelines for talking
to the media to force 'Sheed to comply with spirit of the media access rule
and Canzano said something that surprised me:

So one good thing, now back to bashing the rest of his miserable
existence...=)

I'm not surprised that he wouldn't let a little thing like facts sway his decision.

I'll bet Sheed just glared at him. : )

Go Blazers !

I thought it was John, but I had e-mailed Jason "I love Damon" Quick about
his clusterfrick regarding the whole "Geoff Petrie is a god" fiasco a while
back. Gave Geoff credit for the 1990 finals appearance, when Geoff was on
the radio..

Never once did he respond. Apparently you have to either hate the blazers or
love Damon to get a response.

KOIN tv, on their 6:30 news, did a report about the Blazers were over the
cap, and the Lakers weren't..and Mike Donahue was proudly saying it, in his
smug "I actually don't have a clue" expression. They were acting as if the
Lakers being under the cap was proof that winning a title can be done
without spending a shit load of money. So I kindly informed them they were
idiots, sent them 2 links that took me less than 5 minutes to find, and they
corrected it during their broadcast. They didn't respond to me, but they at
least fixed it.

****in' idiots.

Do the "25 rules" include not tossing fans for having "Trade Whitsett"
signs?

You remember a water cooler, I remember a drink cup.

Hmm... Have you been listening to Basketball Club of Seattle propaganda?
I'm fairly certain Blazer Management has. Seattle and Portland, two small
market towns, seem to be having "fan anger" problems. I wonder how widespread it is.

The press are in the business of selling papers. If it didn't sell papers,
they would change what they are doing. They obviously think the majority of
fans feel the way they do. Rave
