Patterson requests trade
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Reserve forward Ruben Patterson has asked the
Portland Trail Blazers to trade him, according to a published report.
But Portland general manager John Nash told The Oregonian that Patterson
will be tough to trade because he has four years left on his contract.
"Because of the length of his contract and the nature of his contract, there
doesn't seem to be a great deal of interest," Nash said. "I've explained to
Ruben it's very likely that he will not be traded."
Patterson could not be reached for comment. He played in 78 games last
season, averaging 8.3 points. He is scheduled to earn $5.45 million next
season.
