The more I think about it, the worse this trade seems. It's hard to
believe they couldn't have got more for Bonzi then they did. Person seems to be pretty much done as a player. Maybe they think that Memphis will be in the lottery (the blazers can help themselves here) or maybe it's a clever strategy by blazer management.....the rest of the league will think they can be had and will be willing to negotiate in future trades |

no doubt, perhaps in their zeal to "punish" Bonzi, they also punished
the team. " ok Bonzi, you won't get to spend the winter in Portland....you'll have to spend it in Memphis".....not sure that's exactly punishment... .....but wait a minute, isn't Hubie Brown the coach there?....oh ho!....maybe he'll be punished after all.....  but yeah.....I've thought about it even more and it seems to be a pretty stupid trade. Maybe they'll end up with a good draft pick, but it will take a while to pan out, if at all. either Patterson's a bonehead....or Cheeks said dump bonzi no matter what |

Yeah, they would not trade him down before. It must have been on Cheeks say.
