Default Question for Ferdi - had Marius Joubert played last Saturday...

Hey Ferdi,

don't you kind of wish that Marius Joubert had played last Saturday so
that he could have been exposed along with the rest of the backs...?

I've heard a few comments in the media about how things might have
been different if Tinus Delport and Marius Joubert had not been forced
to withdraw at the last moment because of injury.... HAHAHA!

As if those 2 would have made a difference!!!

I would have liked to have seen Marius Joubert try stop the wave of
attacks launched by the NZ backs on Saturday....they can't tell me
he's a better defender than Snyman!

He would have been shown up and hopefully fully exposed...so it would
have been good if he had played as hopefully it would have been the
last time he'd been allowed to play for the Boks.

I never saw him do much against Australia the previous week either,
although elements in the media seemed to think otherwise.

As for Delport....f"ck, if he had played it would have meant that
Ashwin Willemse - the only decent SA back on Saturday - would have
been on the bench while Stephany kept his place....

Not that this will ever happen, but what do you think of the following
back-3 combination for the WC?

15. Werner Greef
14. Ashwin Willemse
11. Wylie Human

2 wings that have pace and do what wings to best...score tries...

It sickens me to think that Human is left out of the squad at the
expense of Terblanche....

So Ferdi, on form and minus any injuries, what would your backline
(incl. reserves) be for the WC ?

There is not enough time to mould this into a cohesive backline, but
in theory I would go with this:

15. Greef
14. Human/Lombard (can't decide)
13. Scholtz
12. Botha
11. Willemse
10. Pretorius
9. De Kock

Back Reserves:

Russell, Barry, Bolla

<<>There is not enough time to mould this into a cohesive backline, but

Lombard has lost form completely halfway into the S12. I would leave him out

Or Barry - if he comes near the form against the Aussies. He always
had a lot of talent but never delivered. It almost seems as if
somebody worked with him. His passes looks much better.
<<>11. Willemse

I am not a De Kock fan. I will pick Conradie. Conradie offers snap descisions and fluidity.
<<>Back Reserves:

So, in the mix I will only leave out Lombard.
