The first 2 games, the Sharks were fast and hungry. The third game, they
were tentitive and were lucky to win. The fourth game, they were more
tentitive and lost a game that they still might have won. The fifth game,
as the ABC announcer said, they spent most of the game trying to win 1-0.
Now, Colorado thinks they can win and force a 7th game, and unless the
Sharks can come out and put it to Colorado early, I think Colorado can win
too.

That is a great question. This team was playing with surprising poise
and confidence for 8 games. It seemed that they actually thought they
were the best team in the world. Now they look like a scared bunch of
youngsters, trying to hold on against a much more confident team.

Any one have any theories what happened? They were playing so fast and
physical. Where have the hits gone? Where have the scoring chances gone?

I am one to usually giving the other team a lot credit when our home
guys look poor out there, but I don't really see that the Avs have
stepped it up all that much. We've just stepped it *way* down. Let's say
game 3 is an exception: lost 2 forwards on the road, at altitude, and
their goalie actually played a great game for once.

But since then, I don't know, it's like they're not the same guys. Did
anyone else notice that close up of Ricci, his eyes looked oily for just
a split second? I think it's time to call in agents Mulder and Scully...
if they can't get to the bottom of this, we're toast.
