Cook's workout sounds nice, but to be honest everything I've read about him
makes him sounds like Maurice Taylor redux. At this spot, with who's left on
the board, this isn't a bad pick. I still like Sweetney and think one
personal workout after not training to maintain his college eligibility
shouldn't be the sole reason to pass on him.

Why?
Barry,
Chris here. I normally try not to get too emotive, but the gloves are coming
off here. Honestly, if this isn't smokescreen then I'm disgusted. A spark
plug sixth-man type (Darrel Armstrong comes to mind as the best-case
scenario) isn't going to win the Sonics any championships.
The draft is not the place to find role players. It's a place to gamble on
cornerstones. Once you've found your cornerstones, THEN you assemble your
role players to complement your cornerstones. Decent players are easy to
find in free agency.
Banks might be a much safer bet than Barbosa or Gaines. He might be ready
sooner. But the Sonics don't necessarily need a point guard this year.
They'll need the best point guard available in three years. Maybe Banks will
be that player - the draft is a big guessing game - but this mock draft
choice was made for all the wrong reasons.
