Timberwolves Acquire Cassell and Johnson from Bucks

Timberwolves Vice President of Basketball Operations/General
Manager Kevin McHale announced today that the team has
acquired guard Sam Cassell and center Ervin Johnson from
the Milwaukee Bucks for forward Joe Smith and guard Anthony
Peeler.

Well, there you go - Ford to learn behind Payton (assuming he re-signs), the
point guard logjam cleared up, and a big guy who can lend something up
front. It seems as if the Wolves got the better end of the deal from a pure
talent perspective, but both teams seem to have helped themselves at a need
position.

I am mildly surprised Terrell Brandon wasn't involved in this trade.

Funny, I haven't listened to Kornheiser in at least 6 months. Are he and I
thinking the same?

That's interesting, honestly I haven't seen/heard PTI since I moved in
December. I don't have cable TV, and am not interested in seeking out PTI
in some other way (not a favorite of mine by any stretch of the
imagination). It somewhat surprises me that he said that, not some much
because I'm smart blah blah but because in the few times I have seen PTI I
don't recall there being much commonality between his thinking and mine.
Weird.

From a strictly talent perspective this is the equivalent of Seattle sending
Reggie Evans and a leftover bucket of spit with the DNA of Tom Chambers to
the Bucks for Sam Cassell and Ervin. Dangit...why didn't we pull this off?

why would the Sonics want Ervin Johnson? we already know he ****s! I'm
not too confident in Joe Smith either! now if you want Sam Cassell,
well, PAYTON IS BETTER AND WE SHOULD HAVE KEPT HIM!
