Default Asianflow's Pre-Training Camp Predictions

The majority of the major moves have already been made, so I'm going to make
early (draft) predictions (I'll make another one after the pre-season
because there could be trades, injuries, etc..)

Eastern Conference:

1. Ottawa
- Class of the East, key players resigned except for Havlet, have all the
key pieces to win the cup, it's a shame they play in a non Hockey market
(how can you get a new billionaire Canadian owner, win the Presidents
Trophy, get a playoff run, keep your top players, and see a drop in season
tickets, WTF?)

2. New Jersey
- Haven't done much in the off-season and after what happened last season it
didn't look like they need to. Too bad they play in front of family and
friends

3. Washington (3rd seed because they win their division)
- A healthy Jagr will do wonders. Didn't do much in the off-season.

4. Toronto
- D looks worse than a porn star after a Bukkake film, but the makeup of the
team is solid. Nolan, Sundin, Almo are all all-star players

5. New York Rangers
- This is the year they put it all together and make the playoffs.

6. Philly
- Getting Hackett wasn't an upgrade over Romey. But outside of goaltending,
this team is stacked like Pamela Anderson's chest.

7. Tampa Bay
- Nice young team, big fan of Vinny and Richards. Boyle is the most
under-rated D Man in the league.

8. New York Islanders
- A question mark in goaltending. Yashin is as soft as my cock after I saw
Carnie Wilson's Playboy spread. What a waste of money. But I like the grit
with Peca, Scatchard, and Asham. Defence is rock solid.

9. Montreal
- I think the criminal ... errr... Theodore will bounce back. But I score
more than this team, which is not a "cough" good sign

10. Buffalo
- Brillant move getting Briere and Drury. Nice depth in goaltending. Too raw
to compete for a playoff spot though.

11. Atlanta
- Nice young team, excellent coach, too bad nobody plays defence.

12. Boston
- Two words ... Felix Potvin

13. Carolina
- This team is as bland as Vanilla Ice Cream.

14. Florida
- Nice goaltending, they have Bowemeester and Oli, and nothing else.

15. Pittsburgh
- Sad to see Mario play for a team that is like the Vancouver Grizzlies,
plain and simple they suck. Can anybody name 10 players on this team?

Western Confernce

1. Detroit
- Back for another run at the cup, upgraded in Net, and will once again make
deals at the deadline. Best 1-2 Defensive combo in the league with Lidstrom
and Hatcher.

2. Colorado
- I'm predicting Roy will come back if Abershier falters by the all-star
break. Their second line (Sakic, Selanne, Kariya) is better than every
other's teams number one line except Vancouvers. Rock solid team.

3. Dallas
- Freakin Turco .. GPA under 2. Didn't make too many moves, but they will be
getting Guerin back.

4. Los Angeles
- Very nice team, upgraded in goal, suffered injury problems last season.
Big fan of this team, and is my darkhorse team to win the cup.

5. Anahiem
- The jury is out on Giggy if he's the real deal, but dumping the floater
and adding Federov and Prospal is an upgrade.

6. St. Louis
- Don't have a goaltender. Getting Pronger back will be huge.

7. Vancouver
- On paper, this team has taken a step back. No offence outside of first
line. Question mark in net. If Bertuzzi or Naslund gets injured, this team
will miss the playoffs.

8. Edmonton
- Will get their usual late seed and first round loss. I think Isbister is
going to break out though.

9. Minnesota
- Won't repeat last season's miracle, and I sure hope it doesn't because I
have more fun watching paint dry and counting sand on the beach (not that I
do either of course...) than watching this team.

10. Phoenix
- Getting a healthy Burke will be huge. Rest of the team sucks.

11. San Jose
- Rebuilding team, doesn't have a impact sniper.

12. Nashville
- This team is still in the league?

13. Calgary
- The fans deserve better, too bad this team has as much of a chance of
making the playoffs, as I do of being well liked in this NG

14. Columbus
- No impact scorer, and getting Marchant is not an upgrade over Whitney.
They better pray Lidstrom, Bertuzzi, Naslund, Sakic, Forsberg, Allison.
Smyth, Modano, Hasek, Federov, Pronger, Demitra, Burke, Iginla, Gaborik,
Stuart, and Blake all get injured so they have a chance at the playoffs.

15. Chicago
- I could play for this team and I don't even know how to skate! It still
amazed me none of the home games are on local TV. But after thinking about
it, it's a brillant move because nobody (even Sadam Husein) should be
subjected to
watch this pile of doggy doo they call the Blackhawks.
