question: liner for an old pair of Roces
Finding a new liner is not likely to help you. The liner cannot make more
room than exists in the plastic boot.
If your foot is only slightly larger than the skates, you may be able to
modify the liner to allow you more room in the boot in the tight spots.
If your foot is hitting the toe, you could cut the end of the liner off to
let your toes go all they way to the plastic boot. You don't need contact
between the end of the toes and the boot. In theory, you could cut the end
of the plastic boot open to allow your toes to stick out.
Depending on how your heel fits in the skate you may be able to cut some of
the liner out in that area and get a little extra length, but I would think
that it is an iffyer modification than opening up the toe.
You might be able to remove some of the liner to the inside of the ball of
the foot if you have a width problem.
If the skates were free, you aren't out anything by experimenting with them.
Otherwise, you may just have to go out and buy a newer pair of skates. If
the Roces are more than a few years old, the new ones are likely to be much
better, they have improved a lot.
