Default Predict the Rams Up-Coming Season!!

What is your prediction for the Rams up-coming season: A Return to the
Dynasty or A Deeper Fall into the Abyss?

I say a return to the Dynasty.

Rams go 12-4 win, division over SF (who realize the screwed up sending their
coach to Det.) and go on to win their second Super Bowl. Faulk is NFL MVP
and Warner has another legendary season (and is MVP runner-up)...

i predict that rams to go 11-5 this year...i look for the rams to lose in
the NFC championship game to the eagles (3rd time is a charm for
them)...the rams will go 11-5 if all goes well with warner and/or bulger,
but i think there is a 25% chance that the QB situation will fall apart
due to the same problem as last year (the OL)...yes turley is now a ram,
but pace is now holding out...the injury bug was not that great for the
rams last year (NOTHING like the bears had), so the downfall in record
cannot be blamed on that...if the QB situation does fall through look for
another 7-9 record and martz to be run out of town

Dynasty? The current Rams have never even won back to back division titles.

8-8 at best. Faulk's numbers continue to drop as age and pounding on the
hard turf wear on him, and Warner is forced to throw to what is becoming
a slightly above average NFL WR corps.

bears had), so the downfall in record

You're joking, right? Every one of the Rams OL missed time last year; two
out for the season, and two immediate backups missed nearly the entire
season as well. It got so bad, they had to brink Andy King in off the street
and START him! At one time, we had only ONE "starter" in the game in St.
Clair, and he wasn't even playing his normal position. And for what it's
worth, St. Clair never should've started anyway.

Rams OL last year
Pace - missed 6 games; out for the season. Started 10 of 10 games
Timmerman - started and played in all 16, but left for one game with an
injury.
St. Clair - same as Timmerman, but left 2 games with injuries
McCollum - same as St. Clair
Nutten - Started and played in 11 games. Left 1 of those games with injury
and was lost for the season.

Travis Scott - missed the entire season with an injury
Grant Williams - Played in 5 games, started in 3 as a replacement, until he
broke his leg and was lost for the year

Not to mention injuries at TE, FB, #3 WR, BOTH starting QB's, Faulk missed
some more games, shall I go on?

And that was just the offense.....

How many other teams have done it since the advent of the salary cap?

Faulk - I would reserve judgement for when he plays behind a decent OL
again. He took a pounding, just as Warner did, because they had no help from
the OL at all. Now that your boy Turley is here, I doubt Faulk gets as many
of those dogpile cheap shots taken at him. As far as his production
dropping, it is natural both from the standpoint that, yes he is getting
older, and because he isn't getting the help from the OL he needs. Still,
there's not another RB on the planet who could've put up the numbers he did
last year with a similar OL. As for Faulk's durability; he's the toughest
back I've seen in terms of resiliency to Emmit Smith.

As for the WR corps - can you name a better tandem at WR than Holt and
Bruce? The answer still remains a solid, "no". So, slightly above average is silly.

as i said NOTHING like what the bears had, the bears had more injuries in
NFL history last season then any team did EVER, they had like 47 or 53 (or
something like that) different
starters on that roster during the course of the year...the bears lost
Colombo for the season, Big Cat Williams played injured (in which he was
too effective), Kruetz was out for a few games i know, tucker was
gone...and that is just at OL, absolutly EVERY position was like that for
the bears last year...and by the way Andy King is no bum, he played well
and actually Martz told him to stand up in a team meeting (after the
eagles game where he played most of the game) and told the team that King
did a amazing job...pretty impressive for a rookie from Illinois St. who
has never played in a NFL game before...and they didn't "pick him up off
the street" he tried out for the team as a rookie FA, got a stop on the
practice team and worked his way up onto the rams roster, which he will be
on the coming season (he will not be on the practice squad starting out)

well first off bruce is old and not producing like in the past...
I would take the following recieving corps over Holt and Bruce...
Brown and Rice maybe (they are old though)....Donald Driver and Javon
Walker from GB...Joe Horn and Stallworth from NO, Owen and Streets (just
cause Owens is so good)...and i would take Hines Ward and Plaxico Burress
over Holt and Bruce

OK they didn't pick him up off the street...but if he got on the team
via a tryout, that's the pro football equivalent of it.

an inside source says King was wanted by not only the rams though...he was
contacted by the saints, bears and giants on soon after draft day ended in
2002...anyway, why are you guys calling him a bum off the street when he
played his ass off for u guys and actually outplayed St. Clair for the
starting RT position during preseason...if i were u guys i would be
excited you have a young tackle who came out of nowhere...
