“As far as expansion cities in the U.S., Baltimore possibly, but my
first bet would be Las Vegas,” Cuban said during a national conference
call Thursday. “It’s one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S.,
and I think it could absolutely support a sports team.”
‘It’s the fastest growing city,” Maloof said. ‘[So] I would second
that. I think Vegas would be a great market.”
Besides Las Vegas, Cuban said Europe is where the NBA should also
seriously consider expansion, especially since so many international
players have entered the NBA lately.
“It’s obviously a potential marketplace, but as I said before, we have
to deal with what we have here first,” Cuban said. “Once we are
excelling across all of our opportunities here in the U.S., then it
makes sense to look to expand.
“I wouldn’t be a big proponent of expansion until our ratings rival
the NFL, as an example, and I think our product is that good that it
can. I think it’s just a question of effort on our part to get there.”

I don’t think Vegas would support an NBA team…Too many Laker fans here. I
also heard that they would want casinos to stop taking bets on NBA
games…That ain’t gonna happen.
We hear about pro sports(baseball, football, basketball, hockey) moving here
all the time. Most locals are too busy gambling to support a pro team.
It is a minor league city…and has trouble supporting them too

If Vegas allows UNLV games to be bet on, which they do, why wouldn’t NBA
teams be able to. As long as the owner of the book is not affiliated with
the team. Plus Mayor Goodman has been pushing for a pro team for years now.

UNLV games have only been on the board in Vegas the last couple of years.
