Both WSCR and WMVP made passing references Monday to the possibility
that the new Soldier Field might not be ready in time for the Septemner
29th game. I think it was Dan Bernstein on the Score who speculated
that the Bears and Packers might have to flip-flop the locales for
their games this year. Does anyone have any more info on this?
Bcs 2012-03-20 23:26:36
If that’s the case, someone in the Bears franchise will have to be
fired, and it would probably have to be Angelo. At least, that’s what
Me 2012-03-20 23:26:40
You are joking, right? I don’t see a smiley, but just for the
jackasses who don’t know, Angelo has nothing to do with the stadium,
that is purely a Ted Phillips deal.
I can’t beleive the stadium wouldn’t be ready. They supposedly
stopped working overtime months ago.
Crackerdog 2012-03-20 23:26:46
I know a guy who has season tickets. He says they haven’t sent them to him
yet so he called the Bears to find out what was going on. They told him
they hadn’t mailed the tickets yet because they weren’t certain the stadium
would be ready and they might have to switch dates with the Packers. I
couldn’t believe it either but the Bears ticket office is confirming this.
If this is true, we have sunk to the level of NFL laughingstock. 49-7 is
nothing compared to not having the new field ready for the season. Worse
yet, it is against the Packers and they have their stadium ready. Oh the
shame. Pray this doesn’t happen.
Drxtz 2012-03-20 23:26:48
It just goes to show that what happened on the field last Sunday was not
limited to the players, or even coaches. The entire organization sucks. It
is this pervasive incompetence that caused me to throw in the towel after
last year’s Bears-Packers game. A loss, or a losing season, or a bad draft
I can live with. A bunch of idiots counting their money while we fans
suffer the consequences of their incompetence is much harder to take.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again:
Owner is the most important posistion on any professional sports team.
Our ownership sucks.

Sorry Crack, your buddy is full of Sh*T.
I’m a PSL’er. I called the ticket office just now and the tickets are
getting stuffed into envelopes as we speak. I asked if the stadium would
be ready for the 29th and got a VERY CLEAR YES!
It was ALWAYS the plan for the tickets to come out in early September.
Plus ticketmaster has them on sale this Saturday morning.
” No one promises you tomorrow”…. Walter Payton, 10/7/84.
Crackerdog 2012-03-22 21:13:48
He’s not a PSL’er so maybe he’s talking to a different group than you. He’s
not full of s***, that is what they told him, point blank. If he was given
bad info by the Bears, that is yet another example of bad management. The
info he was given seemed to agree with the rumors we’ve been hearing around
here. Maybe the Bears ticket office has been infiltrated by a d*** Packer
fan who’s putting out all of this misinformation.
H*** if I know.
Crackerdog 2012-03-22 21:14:07
Ted Phillips said last night during the management report on the Score, the
stadium will be ready. If anyone should know, he should. They just
replayed his statement today because the Score has had tons of calls about

I had someone tell me the BEARS told him this news. How much more

Go back to the Packers NG, you f****** f**!
k F G is actually entertaining the notion that Soldier Field will not
be ready for MNF.
Are Chicago fans a bunch of p***** …. or what?
“And it burns, burns, burns … the ring of fire.”
Codethis 2012-03-26 12:08:44
I think ALL of you Chicago faggots are full of S***!
Time for Da Bears to move to a REAL city!
Like San Diego!
God, I love da Bears …. but I hate the Chicago people with a passion!
Crackerfaggot is a sum of all Chicago fans …. LOOOOOOOSERS!
Just look at the records of the Bears, Bulls, Hawks, Cubs, White Sox etc.!!
L****! A joke!
Worst fans of all time? …. of course, without a doubt, Chicago!
Any sports fan will tell you this.
Being a fan is just not about “showing up” … it’s about “positive vibe”
Chicago fans have a lot to learn.
Give me New York, S.D. fans anytime …. the city of Chicago is weak and
You Vienna eatin’ a** holes, don’t deserve s***!
Shame on you!

Having been to many Chargers games where the fans of the visiting team
outnumbered the San Diego faithful, I think I know who is really FOS.
Someone needs it high, hot and a helluva lot (SSE).
Crackerdog 2012-03-26 12:09:42
LOL. Didn’t Scotty say he was moving to Arizona anyway? Probably lost his
job due to his maturity level.
I have a theory on Scotty. I believe his dad beat him, or worse. How else
could he come up with the sick things he’s said about me and my 5 year old
son? Personal experience is all I can guess. I think he’s truly disturbed
because his daddy didn’t accept Scott’s “alternative lifestyle” and smacked
him around for being a sissy. Further, his dad was probably a big Bears fan
(I think Scotty said he grew up in Schaumburg) so Scotty liked the Bears but
it spawned his hatred of Bears fans. Now he’s living out west, jobless and
without a family so he takes his angst out by trolling this NG and attacking
a good Bears fan and family man, me. Big bad Scott McIntyre, usenet
tough-guy! He’s a sad little pathetic human being and I pity him.

To set the record straight, this whole rumor started because of a story
reported at profootballtalk.com. This site prints every rumor they hear and
then gloats when it gets 1 or 2 correct.
Think about this for a minute:
1) We’ve all seen the pictures of the new stadium and more importantly
2) If the “plan” was to flip-flop home/away game dates with the Packers,
that would mean the stadium would have to be ready by the following Sunday
versus Oakland. What could possibly be not completed by now that an extra
week of work could magically give then enough time to finish it?
3) The stadium is in it’s final stages of completion. Anything left to
finish is mere cosmetic at this point. Anybody who knows anything about
construction knows that a buildings foundation and structure are built and
the plumbing and wiring are installed in the very beginning. The last things
completed are the minor interior finishing like trim, wood putting nail
holes, etc. Granted a stadium is not a normal building, but the process is
the same. Anything not completed on time should have no effect on fans being
able to watch the game, or on the players playing the game. H*** if they
can’t get all the Bank One signs hung up by the opener I hardly think they
will switch dates. Then again you never know, right? LOL
Sorry to ramble on. I just don’t see how any common sense person could
actually believe the stadium isn’t already to be played in. They have 2 1/2
weeks to complete the minor finishing touches, so can we all just relax and
worry about the real problems —> Our coaching and offensive line.
Crackerdog 2012-03-26 12:09:47
Actually, I know a lot about construction (actually development) and you are
missing one thing that made me think there might be a chance of this. Any
large construction process is completed by a city inspection that leads to a
Certificate of Occupancy. Often times, developers are able to get temporary
certificates. This odd and out of the blue rumor we started to hear about
is common in my world where City Hall (pick a city) can use the process to
attempt to blackmail a developer into some last minute concessions. This
process can be time consuming, particularly with a slow-moving entity like
the NFL involved and with an absolute deadline like the MNF game against the
Packers on national television looming, you could see the position that
would put the Bears. Add to this the clear dislike between the mayors
office and the McCaskey family and it is easy to see how this could have
When my friend told me the Bears ticketing office confirmed the story, I
felt I had to mention it here. I’m glad it sounds like this was just a

it was mentioned on espn that soldier field might not be ready for
the scheduled home opener
the game location would be swapped with green bay
and the game in green bay would be played in the new soldier field
so why don’t you learn to seperate fact from fiction
sometimes people post the real info.
