Default Is Hodges A Coward?: A Rational Explanation

it does not matter whether the Cyberswordsman plays Hodges for money
or not..either way the Cyberswordsman will win..that much is certain.
if The Sword can make a little pen money along the way then so be
it...but depleting Hodges' already miniscule bank account is really
not a priority for The Sword.

'On paper'..the method by which professional bookies rely on... Hodges
would be about a 100-1 favourite. Hodges could protest to the
bookies that he should be 1000-1 while The Sword might protest that
they are equally talented and therefore should be even money. The
bookies would pay very little attention to both parties and set the
odds based upon past performances. The fact that The Sword has some
inside information that encourages him to feel confident over Hodges
may or may not garner the attention of the Professional Bookie...most
likely not. Bookies are usually concerned with objective results and
not so much subjective imaginings....although subjectivity has a
part..

so, the issue really is, does Hodges want to play and back up his
boasts with an objective standard for arriving at odds or does he just
want to shoot his mouth off about 1000-1 odds while never for a moment
having the courage to back up his claim?

maybe Hodges just wants to play straight up..no money, no odds?

whats it going to be Hodges?...you gonna remain Chicken Boy or give
real odds for a real match? any money that WOULD be wagered could be
held on to by a third party of your choosing...this would have to be
discreet since the club in which the match would take place does not
allow 'open' betting.

balls in your court sir...

whats it gonna be..

That's what I've agreed to over and over, but you keep insisting I give you
1000-1 odds, while also claiming you are a better player. Yeah, right.

I'll be at your club in Vancouver in February, ready to play you even up for
money. You won't. But you'll talk up a storm while refusing to play. Someone
didn't get much attention as a child, apparently.

Addendum - I missed the "no money" part. I'd love to play you for money,
even up!I may consider playing you for free, but only if you refuse to play
for money. But I expect you'll avoid either when I visit your club.

Since you believe you are such a great player, if we play for money, I'm
just contributing it to you, right? So you will go for it, right? (Yeah,
right!) -Larry Hodges

Goes to show what an idiot Larry is.
You have made more than 100's posts answering someone whom you claim is not
in your
league. When you kept challenging me to come to Potomac I just ignored you
becaue I know
you won't show up since you have defaulted twice against me in tournaments .
Unlike you I clearly ignore childish bets from people like Berndt Mann or
Roy Sguine
who are clearly not in my league (but legends in their own mind) .
Heck I won;t even accept a bet from Marty in harbat though I don't mind
playing him & even losing to him at his terms because you pay basically to
play for the honor of playing a legend like him.& which is fine If I was
that wealthy I would not hesitate to do it, though most likely Marty will
lose if I played hardbat an year fulltime ..........though there is no
shame in that since he loses to players like you only due to his age.
Compare that to your wasting bandwidth here making bets with someone whom
you claim is so much better yet won't accept the bet at given odds. If this
is not chicken I do not what is.

Hi Sjan!

I've never been scheduled to play you in a tournament, and never defaulted
to you. Oh well, I'll let you keep your delusions! -Larry Hodges

How convenient.
Go check the schedules at NTTC in Rockville & feel free to continue as usual
You were scheduled twice.
Once you said you had some injury &defaulted ALL macthes which is fine.
But is the other instance I saw you play me other matches & then told me
you had to leave (may be you were worried & scared) & you did default the
group but
earlier you had played othe rmatches that day.

Oh well

Yeah, right. We have never been scheduled to play a match in a USATT
tournament. I'd love to play you. Hopefully for a large sum of money.

you obviously didnt understand my first post..this much is apparent by
your response...will you or will you not give odds in the match? yes
or no..?

Professional bookies would have the match at 100-1 in your
favour...will you or will you not back up your boasts? yes or no

It's unfortunate that you have a reading problem. Since I have posted
numerous times that I will not give you odds, why do you keep asking? How
about this - why don't you give me 100-1 odds and play me? Or are you
chicken?

The fact that you won't play me without 100-1 odds is all I or anyone else
needs to know. Thanks for the high praise! When you are ready to play me for
money, even up, let me know. I don't give odds in matches against people who
claim they are better than me, even if they are rated 500 points lower.

By the way, professional bookies would put the odds a lot higher than 100-1,
especially since I haven't lost to a 1700 player since the 1970s - I would
guess I've beaten in tournaments over 1000 players in a row rated between
1600 and 1800 during that time. But there's only one way for you to disprove
that - by beating me! Something you will never have a chance to do, since
you will refuse to play me when I visit your club in February. But I'll be
there, and ready to play you.

-Larry Hodges

Well, it is Ok to respect somebody but psychotic groupie like
behavior is another.
This newsgroup is basically full of either Reisman groupies (like
Berndt Mann & Scott Gordon etc) or Rev Hodgs groupies
(too many to name) or such just as the about.com is basically groupies
who worship Sean Oneill.
Not to mention out biggest groupie Sheri Pittman who is in love with all
the top world players, she probably drinks a glass of same glue every
morning for breakfast that Waldner & Gatien use.
And everytime I ask raise general tabletennis issue they always divert it to
a bet or to what ***** I am licking, primarily because they have no valid
answers to my legitimate tabletennsi issues
