DID you hear ROME slamming tonights Pre Show??
After it was all said and done, Rome was somewhat justified. Not surprised
at all that Britney was lip-syncing, although a I didn't expect her ENTIRE
portion to be lip-synced. And poorly, at that. It didn't appear that she
knew the words and arrangement to her new tune well enough to even pull that
off. Aretha, on the other hand, I was a total disappointment. I would have
never in a million years expected her to pull the lip-sync stunt.
Joe Perry of Aerosmith seemed to be having some problems on both "Walk This
Way" and the first part of "Dream On". But at least they were playing live,
and any number of things can go wrong when you've got different acts
swapping out. I thought for a minute that maybe he busted a string, but who
the hell knows. Steve Tyler still rocks.................as did Good
Charlotte. I was a little surprised. So often, some of the younger acts
sound like bad garage bands live, but I thought they were strong. Mary J.
Blige I didn't get to hear, since someone called.
On a scale of 1 - 10, I'd rate it awful. I was really looking forward to it,
primarily because that Spears/Aerosmith, et. al. Super Bowl halftime show at
the RJ was so strong a couple of years ago. What a waste of f***ing time.
And now back to our regularly scheduled program........................
