But yet, you have no problem embracing Michael Irvin. Go figure!

Michael Irvin, did not roid himself and was a great wide receiver in the NFL
falling behind the greatest in Jerry Rice. If Barry had problems with
hookers and pot, I would not have held that against him... I could care less
about someones personal life and especially when it involves two things that
should be legal.

As one ****yst said. If Aaron had done the roids Barry did then he would
have hit 850.

And if the pitchers in his day were juiced he may have hit 550.

Nah, I posted it right after his HR...

Here is an interesting bit I read on another newsgroup

HR per year avg before steroids became an issue in MLB
1986 - 1999 (14 years) 31.7 HRs per year

HR per year at the height of suspected steroid use in MLB
2000 - 2004 (5 seasons) 51.6 HRs per year

HR per year AFTER Congress & MLB took a tougher stand on steroids
2005 - 2007 ( 3 seasons) 17.3 HR's per year

So, as a player reaching the twighlight of his career in his 15th season, he
suddenly(without any drugging help) became a better player(and almost a
twice as good power hitter) than he was the first 14 years of his career,
even though he had suffered the wear and tear of MLB for 14 years ??

Wow, you are so smart. Look what I just discovered with your technique:

HR/yr, first 12 seasons: 33.1
HR/yr, next 6 seasons: 40.2
HR/yr, last 5 seasons: 23.2

So, as a player reaching the "twighlight" of his career in his 13th
season, he suddenly (without any drugging help) became a better player
(and almost a twice as good power hitter) than he was the first 12 years
of his career, even though he had suffered the wear and tear of MLB.

Yes, numbers don't lie. Hank Aaron was a juicer too.
