You're right,going to Ebay to get a ball would be easy.

However,the guy admitted that he is looking for a first ball,and that he's
in the "learning" stage of the game. Ebay certainly isn't going to be able
to get that ball drilled properly for him,and it isn't going to be able to
advise him that it really ISN'T a good idea to get a ball that originally
went for $250 retail marked down to $100 used.

Stick with what Kelly and others have said: go to the pro shop.
