Better yet, why would the Jazz want Horry? He offers nothing and there
are some decent free agents out there and the Jazz have money.

Your original post didn't show up on my server so I am responding to it
here. The Lakers did not pick up the option on Horry for next season.
Therefore he is a free agent. Assuming the goal of a sign and trade is
to get more money for Malone to lure him here, wouldn't the Lakers need
to use the MLE to sign Horry in order to trade him?

See... we just keep coming up with questions....=)
Well the FAQ says how a FA no longer counts on the cap and IIRC how the
contract ended except being waived was not listed.
