During a stoppage, Jazz mascot Bear answered a fake call that was broadcast over the loudspeakers. The caller imitated Malone's voice and identified himself as Mail, saying he wanted to come home, L.A. fans were mean to him and the Lakers don't pass him the ball. The call ended with the imitator saying, "I guess it could be worse. I could be Ko," stopping short of saying Kobe. |

It did cross the line into very poor taste, not what you expect in that
part of the world. -- Gary Collard SABR-L Moderator gmcollard@yahoo.com "We need to tighten this up; you go down to the Mexico-California border on any given night and put on a pair of night-vision goggles, it looks like the start of the Boston Marathon." -- Dennis Miller |

I definitely agree about Stockton. He deserves a statue more than Karl.
But Malone will either end his career as an injured Laker or as a Jazzman. This isn't the first time he's blustered about "never this or never that." He and Larry Miller will kiss, cry and make up in a televised news conference within the next two years. -- -- Lynn Wallace http://www.xmission.com/~lawall "We should not march into Baghdad. ... Assigning young soldiers to a fruitless hunt for a securely entrenched dictator and condemning them to fight in what would be an unwinnable urban guerilla war, it could only plunge that part of the world into ever greater instability." George Bush Sr. in his 1998 book "A World Transformed" |
