I did as you suggested and this is what happened:

My before and after numbers remained the same:

2621.44 / 327368 @ 200
1048.576 / 131.072 @ 500

Does that indicate I was already optimized, or I did
do something wrong ?

It suggested my RWIN [ 65536 ] could be better
at one of the following settings:

My MSS = 1460


513920 [ 1460 x 44 ] s/f 8
256960 [ 1460 x 44 ] s/f 4
12840 [ 1460 x 44 ] s/f 2
64240 [ 1460 x 44 ]

Should I make the adjustment and if so how would I go
about doing it ?

From the FAQ's:

The short version:
1. Backup curent settings (from the "File" menu, choose "Backup corrent
settings").
2. Tweak: choose the type of Internet connection, the Network interface you
use to connect, optimal settings and click "Apply changes". Reboot when
prompted.

If you did the above and it didn't register, there may be something
preventing you from altering your registry settings. Do you have a router?
If so, the router or it's software may be blocking your attempts at at
tweaking.

Guys, this was all good and cool when we had 56k modems and W95.. With XP
it's not necessary. XP will automagically find a good set of numbers for
you.

I don't know what thread this came about in.. What was the complaint
foamster?

Hi Barty: No probs, it was just a suggested tweak once I switched to
shaw. I tried it but with no change, so maybe my XP like you say, has
it all handled ?
