Hi all,

Just wondering if its worth going to watch?
Is it interesting to watch the drills etc.?

Approx. where is 8 rinks?

I've gone the past few years, I think it's really interesting. And they aren't just driills, they scrimmage quite a bit.

Just wondering if its worth going to watch?
Is it interesting to watch the drills etc.?

Approx. where is 8 rinks?

Practices in general are very easy to watch- training camp even more so, cuz
you get to see the science of building a team, veterans working with the
best of the prospects. If you can get in before camp officially begins, do
so, because the players are there playing without the coaching staff, and
you can really get a feel for how they handle the game without direction.

Uhm.. dunno if my previous post got posted re: practice schedule of
the Canucks, but here goes again if it's not... (got an internal
server error msg)

anyone know if there is a schedule posted for the 8 rinks?? is it
open to the public? any admission fee? enquiring minds wants to
know...

Players will report to 8-Rinks on Friday, September 5th for pre-training
camp medical assessments, equipment assignment and photos. The first group
will begin at 8:00 a.m. and the players will be available for media
interviews shortly following their testing.

The prospects will then break into two separate groups. At 3:00 p.m. Team
Blue will begin its on-ice session, followed by dryland exercises. Team
Silver will then take the ice at 4:30 p.m., followed by dryland exercises.
Subsequent days will include on-ice activities, dryland and scrimmages,
generally running between 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Please check the media
hotline for daily updates: 604-899-4605.

Game Schedule:
The prospect camp will be highlighted by two intra-squad games. On Saturday,
September 6th the Canucks prospects will be hosted by the BCHL’s Coquitlam
Express at Queen’s Park Arena in New Westminster at 7:00 pm. Tickets for
this game are available at Queen’s Park Arena and the Coquitlam Express
office at 604 939-7468.

On Sunday, September 7th the Canucks prospects will play their second
intra-squad game at the South Surrey Arena, home of the BCHL’s South Surrey
Eagles, at 7:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased through the South Surrey
Eagles by phone at 604-531-GOAL (4625), at the Eagles’ office located at
#202-1736 152nd St, Surrey, B.C., or at the Guildford Town Centre Customer
Service Desk.

The camp will culminate with a final game versus the U.B.C. Thunderbirds.
This will be held at U.B.C. Thunderbird Winter Sports Centre on Tuesday,
September 9th at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available through Thunderbird Winter
Sports Centre 604-822-BIRD (2473), and the Sports Exchange 604-739-8990.

Admission to practices at 8-Rinks is free and all on-ice sessions are open
to the public.
