Default Laser Eye Surgery after 3 months

Barty,

Good to hear it's going well. I had Lasik 2 summers ago, and except for
a few weeks of dry eyes, it has been a breeze. I have almost no haloing
or night vision problems. I can strongly recommend Gimbel to anyone.
It sounds like Lasik is a bit tougher to perform, and needs a thicker
cornea, but it hurts less, and heals quicker.

it's actually pretty funny - I don't think you got it.

And my post count has never been so high - I'm going to be leaving for good
in a couple of weeks, so I want to get it out of my system. I'm going to be
posting like mad until the 15th, then I'm out of here forever . I figure
my last couple of days I'll make one of those spamming troll-bot things
look out and out unproductive.

First let me say this - I invented leaving the group for good only to return
reborn, redeemed and renamed. I left for good only to rise up from the ashes
for the first time so long ago - and have used this tired old trick so many
times since- it's now synonymous with my name. It pisses poor Jim off to no
end that he is said to be " pulling a Lonnie " (sudb) when he tells us all
to kiss off so he can take a two week holiday in Bermuda every winter.
Heck - the big exit and bigger re-entrance thing is SO mine, even Jesus
has to pay me a royalty every Easter. Unfortunately, this isn't one of
those times. I'm leaving in part because I won't be able to post, and in
part because I anticipate I won't want to. Let me 'splain, Lucy.
I'm losing access to this computer soon - August 15th to be exact ( damn
repo depot - easy payments my ass) No, that's not it. Truth is, something I
didn't mention with all the posts about Harry, Peter and my pack of
cancerous animals is that my wife and I decided some time last March to
separate. We have spent the last 5 Months negotiating the redistribution of
our joint assets. If I'm not even getting my computer you can imagine how
that went. As most everyone knows, I work in my - sorry, her - shop in the
back yard, so I can't just leave - and I will continue to use it until the
end of the year. On the 15th, however, I move out of her house for good. On
the 1st of January I move to Kelowna forever. Although I truly love posting
here, I won't post ever again. I won't even own a computer. I foresee a new
life for me, a new routine, new priorities, new people - but the same old
rock geese. I wasn't going to say anything, but then again a lot of you see
me at shows and such, and it gets a little hard answering all the same
questions over and over ( hey Lonnie, how's your wife. And wow - your niece
sure is pretty. Oh, really ? ) So I figured I'd post something leading, have
someone ask me the question and then explain the situation. So that's the
end of me - at least for the foreseeable future, and I truly anticipate
forever. I will have a complete new life - one that sadly will not include
the Canucks newsgroup. This is actually good news for whoever is the third
funniest person here - they get to be second funniest now.
So that's it - for the most part it's out of my hands - and as I'll spend a
good portion of the next two weeks at shows, I only have about 12 posting
days left in me. I mean - what if I run out of funny things to say.

db - that's your cue...

I am truly sorry to hear that. It has been a rough year for you.

That might be cool. Lots of room for lots of dogs.

Sounds exciting! I hope the change is positive.

For those of us who don't go to shows, pop in at one of those "cafes"
once in a while and say hi.

Two for two now. One of these days I'll learn not to ask.
Just kidding.

That should help your problem with pulling out your hair, right?

In all sincerity, I will miss your posts and wish you the best for the
future and hope Kelowna is good to you.

Kim

In article <YVoUa.547700$Vi5.13878952@news1.calgary.shaw.ca>,
Rocks@shaw.ca says...

Peace be with you, Lonster.

One of my best buds is a Kelowna fireman - so I can ensure some
"protection" for you...heh.

Wow, that is a curveball. Good for you in seeing the opportunity!

Kelowna is a fun enough place, I lived there for 18 months. Frustrating
traffic, but very very nice scenery.. ;-) Lotsa rich old farts, but too
much religion for me. As a on-site computer tech I found myself always
being 'tested'.

As for the squinting thing... Comedy gold!
