Nor have I done a ton of reading in the field of real estate
investment versus other investments either. I'm not well-educated on
the issue, so I won't press the point. But it's relevant to point out
that when you simply assume three very important variables to make
your argument (the differential cost between renting/buying; the ROR
on real estate; the ROR of non-real estate investment), it rather
hurts your argument to say something like:

Because it's incomprehensibly illogical ? The difference being of course,
the developer ain't going to turn over your rental unit to you after you've
paid him through the nose for x number of years.


They have a choice between paying


And where does the full 900 go, other than down the toilet ?


Of course you overlook the fact the banker gave you 1/4 of a mill to start
this process. The landlord gave you what, other than the promise he'd take
care of the silverfish some day ?
