ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Daniel Sedin and Pat Kavanagh scored nine seconds
apart in the third period as the Vancouver Canucks beat Minnesota 4-2
Friday, their second win over the Wild in as many nights.
Leading 2-1 with less than seven minutes remaining, Sedin scored a
power-play goal and Kavanagh followed with an even-strength goal.
The Wild, who had just 12 shots on goal a night earlier in a 1-0 loss,
matched that effort in the first period Friday. They took a 1-0 lead late in
the period when Jim Dowd completed a two-on-one break, taking a pass from
Dan Cavanaugh and chipping the puck behind Vancouver goalie Dan Cloutier.
After pulling Cloutier in favor of prospect Rob McVicar, the Canucks tied
the game late in the second on a breakaway goal by Matt Cooke.
Ryan Ready scored the go-ahead goal for Vancouver early in the third, while
Willie Mitchell closed out the scoring for Minnesota.
Dwayne Roloson finished with 18 saves for Minnesota. Cloutier had 14 and
McVicar had 21 for Vancouver.
